A SUCCESSFUL WEDDING IS DELIVERED LONG BEFORE THE WEDDING DAY
Recently, I came across a wedding video in which a groom publicly confronted a cake supplier over a cake that he felt was smaller than what had been agreed upon.
The incident got me thinking about an important principle in professional wedding planning: many problems that become visible on the wedding day should ideally have been anticipated, identified or addressed earlier.

Take the wedding cake, for example. Where the arrangements permit, advance tasting and design confirmation provide an opportunity to verify that the product meets the agreed requirements. Any discrepancies identified should be raised promptly with the planner and supplier, allowing time for corrective action before the wedding.
Of course, not every problem can be anticipated. A supplier may deliver something different from what was agreed, even after prior confirmations. When that happens, the client has every right to raise the concern and seek an appropriate remedy.
However, the way a problem is handled matters, too.
A wedding is a live event. Time is limited, the couple's experience matters, and guests have gathered to celebrate. Where a discrepancy arises, the immediate priority should be to establish the facts, determine what can realistically be corrected and protect the continuity of the occasion. Any unresolved contractual or financial dispute can then be pursued through the appropriate channels.
Professional event management is not about pretending that everything will go perfectly. It is about preparing for the unexpected and responding to challenges with sound judgment, clear communication and a focus on solutions.
