Lately, whenever I post my photography and videography documentaries here, I see comments like:
“Is this profession still lucrative?”
“I thought AI has taken over.”
“AI has replaced photographers and videographers.”
Let me clear this up.
AI is a tool. It can generate images, help with editing, and make some creative processes faster. Companies like Adobe and OpenAI are building powerful AI tools that creatives can use.
But AI cannot attend events.
AI cannot capture real emotions at a wedding.
AI cannot direct people on set.
AI cannot document real-life stories.
Photography and videography are not just about pressing a button. They are about storytelling, timing, creativity, human connection, and capturing moments that will never happen again.
The truth is this: AI will not replace photographers and videographers. It will only become a tool that helps us work faster and better.
Every profession evolves with technology. The people who grow are those who learn how to use the new tools, not those who fear them.
So yes, photography and videography are still very much alive and for those who are passionate and constantly improving, the opportunities are still endless.
