SEKU to Hold Red Ribbon Pre-Run Ahead of Main Anti-Drug Abuse Run

South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU) will hold a Red Ribbon Pre-Run on 1st October 2026, ahead of the main Red Ribbon Run scheduled for 31st October 2026.

The initiative is part of the University’s commitment to raising awareness and mobilising the community in the fight against drug and substance abuse, particularly among young people.

The Pre-Run will provide an opportunity for students, staff and other stakeholders to come together and promote healthy lifestyles while creating awareness about the dangers and negative effects associated with drug and substance abuse.

Through the Red Ribbon campaign, SEKU seeks to encourage young people to make informed and responsible choices, resist peer pressure and embrace positive activities that contribute to their physical, mental and social well-being.

The 1st October Pre-Run will also serve as a build-up to the main Red Ribbon Run on 31st October 2026, bringing together members of the University community and other stakeholders in a united effort to strengthen the fight against drug abuse.

SEKU calls upon students, staff, partners and members of the community to participate in both runs and support the campaign for a drug-free and healthy society.

Run for a Cause. Run Against Drug Abuse. Run for a Healthier Future.
