I recently visited the Chances for Children orphanage near Kampala in Uganda. There I was able to meet and photograph some of the lovely children living there having been rescued from an awful life on the streets.

It is three years since the last Ebola outbreak in Uganda. Nevertheless, Uganda is well prepared for the next outbreak. Mulago Hospital is a centre of excellence in East Africa in fighting Ebola. This isolation ward can be put into operation quickly and many staff at Mulago Hospital are trained to treat Ebola patients. Some staff also travel to West Africa to help in any outbreaks there.

Eddie runs his coffin making business opposite the mortuary at Mulago Hospital, Kampala. He used to clean and repair cars but branched out into coffins a few years ago. He employs a team of younfg people from the local area and they do everything from build the coffins to help at burials.

Totally un-spoilt by tourists, Penne sits in the hills between the Apennine Mountains and the Adriatic Sea. I have never seen so may bricks of all shapes and sizes in my life. No surprise then to find that Penne is also called 'Città del mattone', the 'Town of Bricks'
