Garissa township and part of ijara sub County experiencing intermittent power black out that can destroys electronic equipment in the house especially computers phones television sets and even electronic cookers especially this holy month of Ramadhan that started yesterday.

Complaints from complaint like Abdi Rashid mohamed Anab yussuf, Ali hafidh and imams of the about 300 mosques are complaining saying there is intermittent power black out in Garissa county especially Garissa town ijara and Hola the headquarters of tana river County.

The residents lamented the power goes off for one hour or two hour coming with a large bhangs causing some of Air condition and fan to stop working yet it needs repair or you buy another at this trying time.

Efforts to contact Garissa kplc power station officer incharge was fruitless as his phone went unanswered the whole of today and yesterday.

But Hola sub station kplc station said in the WhatsApp pages of ijara customers that they are trying to change some transformers on Garissa-Hola -Masalani road and appealled to the customer's to bear with them as engineers were working round the clock to ensure power reaches all regions in ijara and Hola area.

However Cs defence Hon Adan Dualle called on kplc Garissa office to ensure that power is available during the holy month of Ramadhan where Muslims pray most part of the night and fasting the whole day.
Cs defence hon aden barre dualle called on officer incharge kplc Garissa township to pack and called on the managing director Kplc to intervene and post competent staff.

Dualle said he has connected electricity from kiembere dam in embu and another 55 kW are generated at sankuri solar energy system and wondered why Garissa is facing power outage every time.

He noted Garissa could supply the national grid and noted there is negligence on officers posted to Garissa.

He warned them if power is not received frequently in Garissa county he will deal with them through there bosses at electricity house in Nairobi.
