✨ MELANOMA AWARENESS MONTH 💝
Melanoma is not the most common skin cancer — but it is the most dangerous.
Each year, over 300,000 new cases of melanoma are diagnosed worldwide, and more than 55,000 people lose their lives to this disease. The numbers continue to rise, especially due to increased exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
While melanoma is more common in lighter skin tones, it often goes undetected longer in darker skin, making it more dangerous. In many African populations, it is frequently diagnosed at a later stage — when treatment becomes more difficult.
💡 The good news?
Melanoma is highly treatable when caught early.
Take a few simple steps to protect yourself:
✔️ Check your skin regularly for any changes
✔️ Watch for unusual moles (size, shape, color)
✔️ Protect your skin from excessive sun exposure
✔️ Seek medical advice if something doesn’t look right
Your skin is your first line of defense — don’t ignore it.
💚 Be aware. Be proactive. Save a life — maybe your own.
