A true traditional spot for handmade tang yuan we found in Fuzhou 🇨🇳 The rice dumplings here are freshly made, with soft, thin and chewy skins that hit just right. Tried both black sesame and peanut fillings—black sesame ftw (China’s black sesame just hits different). We also had the peanut-coated tang yuan balls, chewy with a delicate, nutty sweetness 💯

Tried recently, where they serve halal charcoal-smoked gyukatsu using A5 Wagyu flown in from Japan-super tender and buttery, then fried and finished with a nice smoky touch. The ribeye, striploin and tenderloin sets are the highlights, and they come with a bunch of condiments like fresh wasabi and sea salt to go with the meat.

Sides like beef curry, oysters and menchikatsu are solid too, plus some non-beef options if needed. There’s also a promo now (till 31 Mar 2026): free 60g A5 sirloin if you order 2 sets, so quite a good time to try.

You’ll find options like Spicy Cure, Rejuvenation with black garlic, Collagen broth and even Black Truffle. The soups are hearty and comforting, great for sharing too. is a Hunan restaurant from China with 8 outlets in Singapore. For this CNY, they introduced four limited-time dishes: Lamb Ribs with Sweet Potato Sheet, Stir-Fried River Shrimps with Green Pepper, Braised Oxtail with Quail Eggs, and the Xiang-Style Fragrant Spicy Crab, which I tried and enjoy.

We also had the signature Big Shrimp w Vermicelli and Garlic. It came with six peeled prawns topped with minced garlic, and the vermicelli really soaked up all the garlicky sauce. Other dishes we tried were Steamed Pork Ribs w Mixed Grains, Dry-Fried Green Beans w Preserved Mustard Greens and individual Lotus Root Soup🧧

Tried a few CNY goodies from this year, such as the Duck Egg Roll - duck eggs turn the classic egg roll into a treat, giving it a buttery texture. The Mini Ondeh Ondeh has that nice gula melaka coconut centre that’s not too sweet. I also liked the crunchy Almond Florentine, and the Bak Kwa Tau Sar Piah is a good one to grab if you like something savoury and flaky. Nice little additions to the snack table 😋🧧

The Lucky Banana Cake is soft, fluffy and easy to share, while the festive cookies come in classic flavours like almond butter, scallion butter and pineapple pastry.
