As a kid I was so naive to the battles that other kids were having around me. I was a complete jerk teasing them for their struggles. It wasn’t until I was 15 that I realised that the battles they fought were real and that growing up would be tough. It took the tears of a teenage girl who was severely affected by Scoliosis to kick sense into my naive brain. From that day on, in the school’s girl’s toilets, knocking on a locked door, with endless apologies, I vowed to change my heart. Usually I’m shaking a can for donations, but this year I decided to take the physical 30-day challenge of using my legs, a voice on social media and your support. Since discovering the work of Starlight in 2009, I’ve seen how much impact they have on the lives of kids battling illness. Giving them that little bit of reprieve from their battles by fulfilling their wishes. Today I have some friends and family who are parents that have little battlers in their lives. As I ride for them I hope you will support me, whether with donations, a word of encouragement or just sharing the stories of the these kids that I will be sharing along the way!
