Today I’m presenting you the most special, the most precious kimono in my collection, and I hope you will appreciate it as much as I do 🥰

My Mona Lisa kimono! You can’t see her when the kimono is worn, but trust me, she’s there. Make sure to check the last slides too!

I bought this one from Fumiko-san of , it’s one of the pieces that were her own, tailor-made for her. We happen to have similar taste in kimono, and also similar size. When I saw this one, I couldn’t stop thinking about it and decided to buy it. It is the most expensive piece I own, but absolutely worth it and I’d buy it again in a heartbeat.

It’s everything that I love — it’s cool, modern, has a story visible to my eyes only.

This kimono is from the collection created by the brand Kimono Yamato for their 90th anniversary, titled “The Beauty of the Louvre”. The collection took inspiration from the famous works of art and made them into kimono…and kimono are quite literally wearable art already! More art in my art, love it.

For this piece the makers took inspiration from high-class kosode patterns of the Edo period (this particular one is the 市松 Ichimatsu pattern) and arranged them in a trompe-l’oeil (optical illusion), incorporating Mona Lisa into the design. (this info is translated from the brochure)

I chose to wear it for the recent fancy party I attended, and it made me feel like the coolest person on the planet. The elegance, the idea behind it, the ART!!! This kimono feels like it was made for me and I couldn’t be happier that it is mine.

Fumiko-san will always know where her precious kimono is and that it is worn with pride and the utmost joy!!!

Do let me know your thoughts about this piece! ❤️

Pre-wedding kimono photoshoot for Andy (they/them) and Tsutomu (he/him)!🌸✨

Formal outfits are a must for a pre-wedding shoot, and while usually there isn’t much we can creatively do with kuromontsuki, here we added some items in the couple’s wedding colours! Green & beige (peek the obi and haori-himo!)

Middle of April, Yaezakura in full bloom, wonderful sunny weather, I don’t think we could have had a more perfect day for these special photos 🥰

If you’d like a kimono photoshoot with cherry blossoms, my April photoshoot calendar is now open and available to book! All info as always on my website!

Both full kimono outfits are from my collection. Kitsuke, photography, editing by me.

In celebration of reaching the milestone of 30,000 followers, I am presenting you the most colorful, the funkiest and the boldest shoot I have done up to date — night kimono photoshoot for Evita 🔥

Evita’s iconic glamour Oiran look and night Asakusa backgrounds worked incredibly well together. This was our 5th photoshoot together and definitely the coolest one yet!
I can’t even count how many people stopped us that night and either took photos of her, or asked me if she’s real or a doll (really!).

The whole outfit, styling concept, hairstyle etc is Evita’s own vision and we used her own items for this look.

ITO KIMONO TRIP VOL. 2!!!

3 days in my favourite place in Japan — Ito, 8 kimono-loving individuals, no western clothes, and lots of fun activities and adventures!

The 2nd kimono trip to Ito organized by me with support of .ito was pretty awesome if I may say so myself 😎

This time around I even had some Ito based businesses and creative people reach out to me with suggestions of activities, so the news of kimono trips is spreading in town!

Pictured:

DAY 1:
Absolutely amazing Koto and shakuhachi experience organized by Ogawa-sensei! The lesson was held at Tokaikan, formerly a ryokan, currently a museum. We practiced Sakura, Sakura and the leason ended with a performance of some of the girls playing Koto and singing! Truly a highlight of the trip.

DAY 2:
This one was packed with activities! We visited two kimono shops in Ito and did some shopping. Of course we couldn’t skip — Fumiko-san showed us all of her favourites pieces and of course we didn’t leave empty-handed. We also visited Komuroyama and all my girls getting on the lift in kimono was quite a view!

DAY 3:
The one with rainy weather, but that didn’t stop us — we visited Atami Museum of Art and saw the beautiful exhibition of Bando Tamasaburo’s stage costumes!

Not pictured: kitsuke together in the morning and mini-workshop on different obi ties, lunch & dinner together (we had an unprecedented number of 5 vegetarians this trip!), conversations until midnight and lots of laughter!

Who is up for Ito Kimono Trip vol.3? 👀

I might also be currently working on another kimono trip, to another place I like a lot, but that’s a topic for another time 😌

KIMONO TRIP: MAY 2025! Part 1/3

Next trip: November 7th~9th, 3 spots still available!

Finally got to edit photos I took during my Ito Kimono Trip in May so it’s high time I showed some highlights, and maybe they’ll inspire someone to join my November trip? 👀

This is a side project of mine done in collaboration with .ito! Ito is a very special place for me and I want more people to experience its charm, it’s even more special that we do it in kimono!

The goal of this project is also to encourage more people to wear kimono casually, to see it as a choice of clothing. This is why one of the rules of the trip is no western clothes 🙅‍♀️

We explored the town, went to dinner and lunch together, had some green tea and traditional sweets and some local craft beer afterwards! We visited some cool historical spots in Ito, including shrines and temples with hundreds of years of history, that are rarely frequented by visitors. They were great for photos for sure!
Kimono workshops, kimono shopping, art museum — I’ll show more photos in the next post.

I also took some photos of all participants, which is a happy bonus of my kimono trips!

Great accommodation, 3 days of kimono, cool spots and activities in a cute seaside town! If this sounds good to you, you can still join the November trip ✌️

*I plan on adding some new spots to the itinerary so it won’t be same as in May!

It’s July Cancer season, witches!!! ♋️ 🦀 🌙

Been a while since I last posted (for my standards) and in the last 7 days:
- I came back to Japan
- turned 35
- opened my November photoshoot calendar!!!

I am working this summer, although availability is somewhat limited due to more travel plans — in August I even made Saturdays available to book should anyone want a summer kimono photoshoot ✌️

For my ✨35th✨ birthday this year, if you feel like doing so, you can leave a review on my Google page (only if you had a photoshoot / workshop / lesson / anything kimono related with me, we don’t support review farming in this establishment!!!) and / or share some of my work on your stories! It’s absolutely free and could help me a lot! Booking a shoot would be great too, of course 🙌

All info as usual on my website in my bio!

A little change of vibe & scenery: casual denim kimono outfit with tabi shoes in Ito, Shizuoka prefecture!

Maybe some will remember the idea I came up with the last time I came to Ito in February — a kimono trip. I actually organized it (booked so fast I didn’t even make a post about it!) and it was rather successful, if I may say so myself 😎 it was a collab between me and Ukiyoe House .ito — the very cool person who manages this accommodation was delighted to hear my idea of the kimono trip and helped me come up with a good itinerary.

It was a simple idea: me + 7 kimono enthusiasts, wearing kimono everyday, learning new things, visiting cool photogenic spots in Ito, eating local food, enjoying local craft beer at , doing kimono shopping at , singing karaoke etc. I heard that people in Ito were wondering what kind of group we are, but let’s be honest, 8 people in kimono marching through a small town will stand out 🌝

I will show more highlights from the trip in the next couple of post and if this sounds like your idea of fun, sign up for KIMONO TRIP vol. 2 I’m planning for autumn ✌️ I would really love for it to be a regular thing, maybe even a once a month event depending on demand.

I’d like Ito to be my regular spot and the trip is for people who already can somewhat dress themselves in kimono or at least own the whole set of items needed for dressing. Dates are not set yet, but if you DM me that you’re interested, I will message you once I decide the next trip!

The first trip was a blast, the next ones can only be as awesome or even better 😎
