Memories from the first family trip to Japan. And get ready to see the cuteness overload ahead.

A sweet and playful family photoshoot in Tokyo, with this light, it’s just luck! It rained the whole month of September however this day we had incredible sunlight.

If you are planning a photoshoot during your visit, keep in mind that weather is sometimes unpredictable.

Two hours. Two neighborhoods. And a very good night in Tokyo.

We started this anniversary photo session in Asakusa with lantern light, old wooden storefronts. Then we headed to Akihabara, where the neon, arcades, and game signs took over.
In this session we had traditional architecture and izakaya lanterns and a completely different energy with the brain and arcades.

Planning a night session in Tokyo? Here’s what I would tell you:

• Pair two neighborhoods. Two hours is enough to see two totally different sides of Tokyo. Asakusa is traditional and warm, Akihabara is bright and electric.

• Start around sunset. You get soft blue hour light in Asakusa, then neon takes over into the night.

• Wear light or solid colors. White, cream, and pastels.

Embrace the real Tokyo. Train platforms, arcades, crosswalks and the izakaya make some of the most cinematic elements.

As we are about to say good bye to summer here is a gallery from a summer morning in Tokyo, perfect day to wear a Yukata and get more family memories.

This was such a fun shoot we started early trying to avoid the heat… didn’t succeed but we had many laughs along the way.

Eloping in Japan can look however you want it to.

K + S, a kind couple from Austria who kept it simple and real.

They registered their marriage at a Tokyo ward office with a couple of close friends there to witness it. Then I met them for a 2 hour photoshoot. Sunset into night, wandering through Asakusa and Akihabara, just having fun.

My job isn’t only to capture the love and the laughs. It’s to help you actually enjoy the moment instead of performing for a camera.

Tokyo, September to December month. What to wear to your shoot!

Early September still summer and the chances for rain are higher.

Wearing natural fabrics and light colors or even some patterns are good.

For a couples photoshoot, September feels warm!

September in the city can feel warmer. Embracing the moments and the season is my advice.

And the best time, early morning, golden hour and the evening.

And October arrives. Transitioning some days can feel warmer and others the freeze is great.

And October

October in Tokyo you can enjoy your photoshoot without many layers of clothing.

If the afternoon photoshoot feels a little cold, add a light sweater.

November, starting slowly to cool down. Some trees are starting to change colors.

Mid to the end of November the beautiful yellow hues and a the best temperature in my opinion.

Staring to feel like autumn in Tokyo. Warm colors, cozy outfits.

December and the momiji will be filling the space, the red hues and the autumn atmosphere. Getting a colder by the day.

Adding a few layers to keep warm and to add interest to your outfits.

Perfect time before Christmas, enjoying the autumn colors.

And the autumn colors can last even to Christmas Day in tokyo.

Today’s love story takes us to the greenery and the last batch of lilies blooming at the start of Tokyo’s summer.

I met F & J early in the morning to beat the heat. We made it. Though I can’t say the same for my face, red as a tomato by the end. Worth it to document their pre-wedding.
