Soon it will be this time of the year again. From maternity sessions, to engagements and families.
If you’re thinking about a Tokyo cherry blossom photoshoot, here are a few things to know:
1. Timing is everything.
The peak bloom window is short. I keep a close eye on the forecasts and the trees around the city so I can suggest locations when they’re looking their best (and hopefully with fewer crowds).
2. Spring weather can be unpredictable.
It can still be chilly and sometimes rainy, so keep that in mind when choosing outfits and always have a simple backup plan.
3. Hanami season is special.
You’ll see people sitting under the trees on blue picnic sheets, enjoying the blossoms with friends and family.
It’s one of the nicest traditions in Japan that I love.
