It’s International Women’s Month. And what better way to celebrate it is to remember the women who influenced us and taught us how to be gentle and tough.
May it be your mom, sister, friend, teacher or simply an acquaintance—let’s remember why these women keep on going and why we need to keep on supporting them.
Women have a big role in the society. In spite of being given the minimum wage or a stay-in housewife/mom, the role— doesn’t stop after giving birth. It lives on and continues to leave legacy from generation to generation.
With this in mind, I am sharing to you what I presented when I joined the Foreign Artists’ Exhibition in Nagoya International Center last year for the first time.
Don’t let people tell you otherwise, that you are JUST a woman.
You ARE a woman.
“Hindi ka babae LANG. Babae KA.”
SHARE and tag the strong women you know.

KINTSUGI | Loving In Spite Of
When you look at the mirror, what do you see?
Do you like what you’re seeing?
Or do you despise what you see?
Kintsugi is a Japanese contemporary art.
Its general concept is to highlight or emphasize imperfections.
To value one’s beauty and celebrate imperfections
that makes an individual as a whole.
Why not apply this philosophy to people?
For me, Kintsugi in humans is an expression of “Loving In Spite Of”.
Loving in spite of not knowing what you feel.
Loving in spite of the pain from a trauma, fear, anxiety and unresolved issues.
Loving in spite of not liking the one you see.
And when you do learn to love in spite of.
The golden lines illuminate.
Letting you know that the beauty of healing always comes from within.
