Jacked Into Japan - Part 3: Strangers for a Moment, Family for a Week

We had a second photoshoot, this time wearing a yukata. And, because this is Japan, we somehow ended up having an earthquake in the middle of it! 😅

We were also joined by Sage after several days, another student from the same program. It was really nice having both of them with us, even though I didn’t get the chance to give Sage a photoshoot.

We hope to meet both of you again! And to Jack, enjoy college life!

It’s a little play on Jack’s name, Jack + “plugged into” Japan. He really did get plugged into our little corner of Japan.

JACKED INTO JAPAN - Part 1: Just Jack

When Jack first arrived, we weren’t quite sure what to expect. It was our first time hosting someone we have never met before, but it didn’t take long for him to feel comfortable around us.

One of the things that stood out was how mature and thoughtful he was. We could have conversations with him and sometimes completely forget that we were talking to an 18-year-old.

Our week together started with dinner, our first time trying horse meat, and a lot of a new experiences for all of us. The next day, we headed to Kiyosato, and in the days that followed, Jack got to spend time with our Son and his friends, play card games with us, and just become part of the everyday rhythm of our family.

And somewhere in between all that, we squeezed in a photoshoot.

For our June cover, of course, it's all about our "Papsy" for Father's Day. 💙

We had fun recreating some of our old family photos, and yes there was a little bit of shouting 😂 along the way because, as usual, the three couldn't stop teasing and messing around with each other. That's just who they are.

Us girls had to head off to soccer, so Jeff and kuya got to enjoy a special father-and-son day together. The fathers were honored at church, then the two treated themselves to a meal at Aki's recommended restaurant.

We started the day with hugs and kisses before heading our separate ways. It wasn't the Father's Day we originally planned, but it turned out to be a meaningful one for everyone.

We became Mama and Papa because of these three little rascals. ❤️

This photo says it all. Even now, they're still the same chaotic, fun-loving, and always keeping us on our toes. They get along so well, love each other fiercely, and yes... they fight just as hard. 😂

We wouldn't have it any other way.

A little late, but still worth sharing.

I had a simple yet wonderful Mother's Day this year. We were honored at church, enjoyed watching a movie with my family, and spent the rest of the day relaxing at home exactly how I wanted to celebrate.

Our May mock magazine is a little late. Instead of spending our free time editing, we chose to make more memories with the kids. No regrets. ❤️

Here's our May (finally!) mock magazine cover! We recreated photos from when the kids were little, and I'm so happy they agreed to do it. Watching them recreate those old memories made it even more special.

Better late than never! 💕
