Japan recently officially declared the start of cherry blossom season by counting more than five(!) flowers on the sample tree of the Somei Yoshino variety. But in reality, cherry blossom season has already been quietly happening since February and I have been chasing them all over! 🌸
This year, one of the early-blooming varieties, Kawazu sakura, bloomed exceptionally early, reminding us once again how unpredictable sakura season can be in Japan. Sometimes things don’t go exactly as planned, but that’s also part of the beauty of doing a proposal shoot during cherry blossom season.
If you’re planning a proposal shoot in Japan, flexibility is key, especially during spring. The weather and bloom timing may not always go as expected, but those unexpected changes often lead to moments that feel even more natural, emotional, and beautiful. 🌸✨
Based in Tokyo, I craft cinematic, heartfelt stories for couples and offer engagement, pre-wedding, maternity, and elopement photography across Japan. Your story deserves to be captured beautifully.
