Back in Tokyo, just in time to capture the finale of Somei Yoshino - the most celebrated variety of cherry blossoms.

We’re often asked why many Japanese love Somei Yoshino so much. These blossoms last only about a week after reaching full bloom, and they appear during a period marked by life’s transitions in Japan—graduations, new schools, new jobs.

For many, it’s a nostalgic time of year, where the brief beauty of these blossoms mirrors the fleeting moments that shape their own lives. 🌸
