You know they are worth the hype when you visit these spectacular giant structures built by the pharaohs to house their deceased. It is mostly known that the pyramids were shaped in triangles for stability but the Egyptians also believe that the it is also the way rays of the Sun reach the ground that have inspired the way they are shaped. The Sun played an important role in their daily lives but small things like the way leaves of the papyrus plant look when turned upside down also inspired the shape of the pyramids. Pretty amazing, right?!!

If you are a Game of Thrones fan then you probably know this place as the Kingsroad. Famously known as The Dark Hedges, this beautiful avenue of beech trees were planted in the eighteenth century by the Stuart family in Northern Ireland. These beautiful trees have created a surreal tunnel that has been a popular tourist attraction especially since after being featured in Game of Thrones.

Crater lake is one of the bluest lakes in the world and also the deepest and purest lake in the United States. Snow and rain feed this stunning crater which has so many different shades of blue that look absolutely surreal.The shallow parts shine with vibrant turquoise while the deepest areas have a matte deep blue finish. Drive around the rim of the crater and you will be treated with stunning vistas for sure!

The amazing monoliths lit by the first rays of sun are known as the Temple of Sun and Moon and are located in the remote areas of Capitol Reef National Park accessible only through a rugged dirt road. We wanted to be there for sunrise so the drive was in pitch dark with the rocky road lit just by the headlights of our Jeep, it was a little intimidating in some sections but totally worth it!
