Cats of Amman → Swipe also for the mysterious Hoopoe

Hello there 👋🏻
As always I love to walk around the city with my camera taking photos of these little ones. Most commonly you’ll find them around the trash bins, courtyards, or the most friendly on busy sidewalks looking for attention.

Kindness 🐈
There’s many kind individuals who care for the street cats here, I believe it’s a fundamental need to show kindness to animals and part of what it means to be human.

The Street Cats of Jordan 🤍
If you’re a traveler visiting Jordan in 2024 the cats here are likely something that will bring joy (and likely fill your phones photo album) if you happen to find a local caring for these little ones, and if you find it appropriate to do so, monetary help can make a big difference for their day-to-day care.

The Hoopoe Bird ✨
When taking photos at the Amman Citadel, I normally spot these beautiful birds. They’re quite shy, so usually it’s only a glimpse before they spot me and fly off. These are a special bird in the region, in the Quran and in Egyptian mythology are associated with wisdom, and communication. A gorgeous messenger. This is the best photo I’ve gotten of them so far, but I suggest searching and learning more!

Have you ever experienced the sensation of floating on the saltiest water on the planet? Here are our tips for visiting the Dead Sea.

☀️ Just a quick 45-minute drive from Amman, it's gorgeous every time we’ve visited and a great spot for our private travel photoshoot.

Want to know the best area for those crystal formations? Keep reading.

✨ Most visitors will stay on the northern side for resorts, hotels, and proximity to legendary destinations like Mt. Nebo and the historic city of Madaba. There’s also a unique area, Hammamat Ma'in—hot mineral springs and waterfalls nestled in these beautiful mountains.

☀️ Further down on the southern end, experience the saltiest area, creating stunning white formations on the edge of the water. A wide area called “Salt Beach.” This is our favorite spot for photoshoots. With a few areas made up of smooth salt spheres forming a perfectly white beach. For us, it’s something all visitors should experience.

✨ In the south, you should also explore Wadi Mujib, an incredible site for nature lovers. This southern area is also where most Dead Sea products are made and packaged.

Introducing our new city walk experience “Tales of Palestine”

Omar and I have been putting this together for the last couple of weeks wanting to support the community but also find someway to bring donations for Gaza. This has been a very special project that we hope you can be a part of too.

☀️ This is an Amman walking tour, that highlights the history of Palestine and Jordan. Get ready to meet local Palestinian-rooted local business owners and hear their stories.

🍉 Every tour is unique, featuring different special guests and destinations. It's an experience worth repeating. Follow our stories for all updates.

☀️ Each tour starts on Rainbow Street and lasts around 3 hours. The cost may vary depending on the day from 10-20 JOD per person.

Just follow the Cats of Amman and they’ll be your official tour guide 🐈‍⬛

Jacqueline provides photoshoots for visitors traveling across Jordan, but also has a series of photos of cats across the county, including some residing within the historical landmarks themselves, such as this Roman Hercules temple.

Recently this family has taken residence at the Amman Citadel and we love seeing them grow and play at this iconic site.
