Thousands of shots, decades of travel, one extraordinary archive.
Welcome to the heart of Laboratoriorosso, where Sandro Vannini’s vision comes to life through a ritual of patience and precision.

Before technology takes over with digitization, there is one essential step: the selection.

We are not looking for the “perfect” photo. Under the light, each frame is evaluated for its ability to meet a specific need, an emotion or a precise narrative. It’s a process of pure quality assessment where the human eye still makes all the difference. Sometimes, an imperfection is exactly what makes a shot the perfect piece of our story.

The journey from analog to digital has just begun.

Tha Linving Archive
Cairo - 2004
A time that has not passed. Only preserved.

«“Ramadan kabir - Happy Ramadan,” smiles the taxi driver, eager to get home. After hours of traffic, Cairo comes to a standstill. An unusual silence for this chaotic city, suspended between anticipation and respite.
It is almost 5 p.m. Everyone is waiting for Iftar, the well deserved “breakfast” after a day of fasting. They will only eat at sunset, when the muezzin calls them to prayer. Long tables under the overpasses and along the Nile, lit by Ramadan lamps, with bread, fruit and dates. The enchantment lasts an hour: a moment suspended between flavours, lights and quiet conversations.
Then the chaos resumes.»
- Sandro Vannini

Each image in our international archive preserves not only photographs, but also the scents, sounds, emotions and details that make each moment unique, fragments of life suspended in time and memory.

A constellation of images, gathered from distant times and places, held together in one frame.
Fragments of myth, devotion and gesture - woven into a single visual cadence.

These are the works that shaped our latest exhibition:
an intimate selection curated for the Lab,
where fine dining met fine art,
and every piece became part of a shared ritual.

Here begins the full collection.
