Family pictures in piazza San Marco, Venice. How often do you take the time to create family memories and take pictures? It is a good idea to do it on holiday, especially when the kids are little and every month looks different. This beautiful family took a vacation with grandma and wanted to keep the memories of a special time in a special place.

"We have seen all of Venice, we don't want the same pictures everybody is taking".

Dorota and Olivier asked me to go somewhere different, Venetian but with a twist. This area is just magical- it is one of the few places where you see Venetians doing normal things, and most tourists just come here because they are lost. We got there at a time when kids just got out of school, and we shot a few images among the mess. They still turned out beautiful. A lovely couple celebrating a few decades together 💓

Here we are, me and my little one, celebrating her sixth month, my birthday and also me and my husband's second wedding anniversary. What a whirlwind!

We took some time to visit Cà Pesaro, a beautiful museum here in Venice with a rich collection of contemporary art pieces bought fromb the Art Bienniale and highlighting some of the history of art of the last century.

The third floor hosts the Museum of Oriental Art, but in between feedings and diaper changes we didn't get to see it (it wasn't my first time there anyway!).

I am learning firsthand what are the best places to go with a newborn in Venice, and museums are luckily some of the most comfortable places. They have changing stations and clean toilets and feeding rooms. Any new mom who wants some tips on how to navigate the city, ask away!

What an inspiration! Sarah is traveling Europe, coming from Australia, taking a well deserved break after twenty years of work, looking to explore and maybe start a new and different career. Piazza San Marco is great, but do you know the area around Arsenale?

The Venetian Arsenal is a complex of former shipyards and armories clustered together in the city of Venice in northern Italy. Owned by the state, the Arsenal was responsible for the bulk of the Venetian Republic's naval power from the Late Middle Ages to the early modern period.

The area around it is magnificent: open views, beautiful bridges and narrow streets mostly untouched by the over tourism.

Despite being the area where the Art and Architecture Biennale is held, you won't find as many people as in Piazza San Marco.
This place is one of my favourites when it comes to choosing a location for photos that are intimate, intrinsically Venetian and unique.
