In March I was fortunate to spend 12 days in Guatemala and Honduras photographing for The Riecken Foundation. They build and provide programming for libraries in small communities and it changes lives.

We took a walk around this town called Huitan in Guatemala where this lady was selling “Root of Water” in the market.

As she loudly yelled out what it was …she, in spanish, was exclaiming all the things it heals. “the pain in the leg, the pain in the back, the pain in the feet…” when another vendor yells out in Spanish “ and it will cure the pain of love!” The market erupted in chuckles.

Humor translates well!
