Autumn in Tuscany looks like this.

Not summer crowds, not hot. Just you two, golden light through the trees at 5pm, and that soft grass that still smells like summer.

This is why I love October shoots in Italy. The light is warm, the parks are empty, you can actually sit on the ground without 20 people watching.

No posing needed here - just laugh and hold each other. The best couple photos happen when you forget the camera.

If you are planning Italy in autumn, this is your sign. Tuscany in October > Tuscany in August.

3 photoshoot spots in Venice that don’t look like everyone else’s Venice.

1. Ponte di Rialto
Yes it’s touristy, but from the water side at blue hour it’s empty and glowing. Don’t shoot ON the bridge, shoot it from the side like this. This is that timeless romantic postcard shot. Best at 7:30am or just after sunset when the lights come on.

2. Punta della Dogana
Wide open water, that white building with the golden ball on top. You get sea + Venice skyline in one frame. Very editorial, modern, lots of space to pose. Works so good for solo and the wind is amazing for dresses.

3. Ponte dei Pugni
My favorite. Small bridge in Dorsoduro, no tourists, green shutters, flowers on the windows. This is the real, quiet Venice. You can actually hear the water and you get those authentic Venetian vibes without photoshopping people out. Best in the morning when the sun hits the yellow house.

My tip: Start at Rialto for that iconic shot, then walk 10 minutes to Dogana for open sky, finish at Pugni for quiet local photos.

Save this for Venice - you will need it when Google Maps only shows you Rialto and you end up in a crowd of 300 people.

when you don’t know what to do with your legs - do this.

stairs + one leg up + arm up. takes 2 seconds and looks like a magazine, not a tourist photo.

tip: white boots pop against black outfit and beige stairs. always bring one light piece if you wear all black.

save this for your next city shoot - so you have a pose ready when you freeze.

Best photo spots in Rome - without 100 people behind you 📍

Everyone goes to the same 2 spots. These 4 are better:

1. Terrazza Caffarelli
Rooftop terrace behind Capitoline Museums. You get all the domes of Rome in one frame. Free entry, almost empty in the morning, perfect for that wide Rome skyline.

2. Villa Borghese / Pincio Terrace
The classic panoramic view. Whole city, St. Peter’s in the back. Go for sunset, light is golden over the rooftops.

3. Roman Forum viewpoint
From Via dei Fori Imperiali side. You stand above, columns in foreground, people tiny below. Looks like you have the Forum to yourself.

4. Giardinetto del Monte Oppio
My favorite for Colosseum. Not the crowded front. You are slightly above, with grass and fence in foreground. Colosseum looks huge and you have space to pose.

Save this for Rome - you will thank me when you are standing in front of Colosseum with 500 tourists around you and remember this video.

4 spots for Acropolis photos that actually work - saved from 100 tourists in your background.

1. Philopappos Hill
My favorite. Olive trees in front, Acropolis on top. Quiet, green, no shops. Go in the morning for soft light.

2. Aiolou Street - City Center
The street that leads straight to Acropolis. You get the street life + the monument at the end. Best at golden hour when the street glows.

3. Areopagus Hill
The closest you get. You stand on the rocks right opposite. Rocks in foreground look epic. Go for sunset but go early - it gets full fast.

4. Dionysiou Areopagitou Street
The cleanest view. Wide street, no cars, olive trees framing the Parthenon. This is where most photographers shoot.

My tip: Start at Philopappos for quiet photos, finish at Areopagus for sunset.

Save this for Athens - you will need it when you are there looking for where to take the photo.

this is Duomo at 7am on a weekday.

this is how you get the empty square. no photoshop, no luck - just early.

after 9am you will have 200 people behind you. before 8am you have the whole marble floor to yourself and the sun comes right through the spires.

white dress works best here because the cathedral is white marble too - you catch the light and stand out without trying too hard.

if you want this photo, set the alarm. it’s worth it for 15 minutes.

9 poses for when you feel awkward solo 🤍

let’s be honest - posing alone feels weird at first. so I broke it down into 3 easy groups.

1. EASY STANDING (slide 2)
hand in pocket, legs crossed, look over shoulder. you literally just stand there. perfect to start with when you are nervous.

2. NATURAL MOVEMENT (slide 3)
walk towards me, walk away, fix your hands. this is where photos stop looking posed and start looking like you.

3. RELAXED WALL POSES (slide 4)
find a wall, lean on it, cross your arms or lift a leg. the wall does half the work for you.

my tip: start with wall, then standing, then movement. it gets easier every minute.

save this for your next solo trip - so you have it ready when the photographer says „okay, what should I do?“

Positano is not just a backdrop. It’s a feeling. 💛

You run barefoot through the waves, you laugh because the water is cold, and behind you the whole pastel village of Positano is watching.

This is not posing. This is how a couple shoot in Positano should feel - like your honeymoon, not like a photoshoot.

Best spot? Fornillo Beach, 7:30 AM. No beach clubs, no crowds, just you, the waves and those colorful houses climbing the cliff. The light is soft and the water is calm.

Pro tip: He wears white polo + coral shorts, she wears white dress with a little pink detail. Matches the village colors without matching each other.
