My heart cries for Italy. Two hundred deaths overnight, thousands of infected, and millions of lives affected. When I backpacked across Europe, Italy was the highlight of my trip because I’ve never felt so much love from people who didn’t know me. Italians are welcoming and kind. I can’t even imagine how dire this situation is for the elderly who more or less ran the shops of Venice and stationed most of the Florentine restaurants. I can’t imagine a Rome without Romans having their afternoon coffee.

Don’t forget that Italy is ranked second place globally in terms of their health care system. Let’s learn from them and dispel all the falsified information circulating around. Wash your hands, don’t hoard essentials, and definitely do not hoard medical supplies. This is a pandemic and the fast everyone works together, the quicker it is for everyone to live a normal life again. 🇮🇹

I’m afraid this year will be different for everyone. COVID-19 is a mess. Just last month, I got stuck in the airport because of a travel ban. The stress behind trying to find a plane home is incomparable, but I’m still lucky. I can’t even imagine how catastrophic this is to the tourism industry that majority of the South East Asian countries rely on. When the airports and borders shut down so will the influx of cash that literally feed millions of people. It’s only been two months and airlines are already shedding thousands of employees. All the sectors are affected with a disease that indiscriminately ravages lives. I’m blessed to live in a powerful country equipped with the best medical facilities and intervention, but how will others cope?

Wishing you all safe travels and good health. Make sure to travel more when all of this is settled. The world needs us! ✌🏽

I spent the past two months in my motherland. It’s a totally different vibe compared to life here in Southern California. It’s lax, chaotic, loud, and beautiful at the same time. I’ve been back for a week now and I miss that vibe already. Most importantly, I miss my lady and family back home.
