Mail: [email protected] Trieste Photo Days รจ un festival internazionale dedicato alla fotografia urbana che dal 2014 esplora la contemporaneitร  attraverso tutte le forme di fotografia ambientate nel tessuto cittadino. Il festival si รจ affermato negli anni come contenitore creativo crossmediale che riunisce mostre di artisti italiani e stranieri, workshop, proiezioni, contest, presentazione di libri, incontri e altri eventi collegati alla fotografia di strada, alla fotografia architettonica e alla fotografia artistica. Denominatore comune รจ la Cittร , lโ€™ambiente urbano e lโ€™umanitร  che lo popola: la vita quotidiana delle metropoli e dei piccoli centri abitati, i contrasti e le contraddizioni della cittร  e della provincia, gli scorci artistici, le geometrie architettoniche, i frammenti di colore che spezzano il grigiore cittadino. Obiettivo del festival รจ promuovere un tipo di fotografia portatrice di valore artistico, documentale, etnografico e sociologico, che offra testimonianza dellโ€™oggi. Uno spaccato di contemporaneitร  urbana in grado di parlare dei cambiamenti sociali che avvengono nella grande cittร  come nel piccolo villaggio. Trieste Photo Days si avvale della direzione artistica di Angelo Cucchetto, event planner, pubblicitario, critico e promotore fotografico milanese, fondatore di Photographers.it, principale portale italiano dedicato alla fotografia nonchรฉ media partner ufficiale del festival. Ideatore e capofila del progetto รจ dotART, associazione culturale che dal 2009 promuove, sul territorio e allโ€™estero, iniziative orientate a dare supporto e visibilitร  ai fotografi professionisti e amatoriali. In particolare, dotART promuove dal 2010 il concorso internazionale di fotografia urbana URBAN Photo Awards, che รจ tra i principali โ€œserbatoi culturaliโ€ del festival. URBAN Photo Awards infatti, vede ogni anno migliaia di foto in gara e centinaia di partecipanti da tutto il mondo. รˆ un contest di respiro internazionale in continua crescita, uno dei pochi a โ€œvarcare i confiniโ€ del web offrendo ai fotografi una reale visibilitร  attraverso decine di mostre fotografiche itineranti in giro per il mondo. Solo nel 2017, URBAN ha allestito 28 mostre per quasi 600 foto esposte, 300 delle quali nel corso di Trieste Photo Days. Dal 2011 URBAN ha allestito mostre in Polonia (Cracovia, Lodz e Varsavia), Ungheria (Budapest, Pรจcs e Miskolc), Cipro (Limassol, Paphos e Nicosia), Serbia (Belgrado) Lettonia (Riga), Slovenia (Capodistria), Ucraina (Sumy), Croazia (Parenzo), Germania (Berlino), Colombia (Bucaramanga) e Italia (Trieste e Roma). Lโ€™ambizione รจ di dare vita a una manifestazione internazionale con cadenza annuale, che miri a diventare un punto di riferimento in Italia e in Europa.

This exhibition brings photography and contemporary art into dialogue, exploring the theme of inner journeys and what lies beyond the visible. At its centre is the winning project from the Scatti da Collezione (Collectible Shots) 2026 open call, The Lilies Pond by Alma Bibolotti , shown alongside A/R โ€“ Acqua e Ruggine (Water and Rust) by Giulia Natalia Comito, winner of the 2025 Portfolio Review, and sculptures from the series Le Muse Interiori (Inner Muses) by Alessandra Spigai.

The exhibition sets out to move beyond a purely documentary understanding of photography, favouring personal vision, symbolism and artistic research. Photographs and sculptures thus enter into dialogue, exploring the relationship between matter, memory, perception, and inner experience, reflecting Scatti da Collezione's broader aim of bringing photography closer to contemporary art and collecting, presenting it as a genuine art form in its own right.

Holding On by Michele Zousmer is the winning project of the ninth Trieste Civic Museums Award, an ongoing project exploring the solitude of elderly women in Romania and Bulgaria.

The portraits capture bodies marked by time, everyday gestures and domestic settings, weaving together a narrative suspended between memory, resilience and vulnerability. These women, often left alone after the death of a husband and the departure of their children, are the keepers of a family memory and cultural heritage at risk of gradually disappearing.

The project was selected by Claudia Colecchia, senior archivist and head of the Photographic Archive and Library at the Municipality of Triesteโ€™s Civic Museums of History and Art, and Michela Messina, curator of the Civic Museums of History and Art and the Sartorio Civic Museum.

Holding On will be on display at the Sartorio Civic Museum from October 23 to November 8, in dialogue with the museumโ€™s collection of ceramics, books, and paintings.

La Forma del Calore propone un percorso di sensibilizzazione sul cambiamento climatico attraverso dati, grafici e fotografie, mettendo in relazione la lettura scientifica del fenomeno con le trasformazioni visibili nei territori. In occasione dellโ€™incontro saranno presenti i protagonisti del progetto Gioia Di Credico, Vincenzo Gioia, Francesco Pauli del DEAMS โ€“ Dipartimento di Scienze Economiche, Aziendali, Matematiche e Statistiche dellโ€™ Universitร  degli studi di Trieste e il fotografo Filippo Ferraro, per incontrare il pubblico, rispondere alle domande e condividere spiegazioni e riflessioni sul lavoro.

Sarร  unโ€™occasione per approfondire come dati e immagini possano rendere piรน comprensibili gli effetti del cambiamento climatico in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Razstava Oblika toplote obiskovalcem omogoฤa sreฤanje z avtorji in sodelavci projekta ter poglobljeno spoznavanje podnebnih sprememb v Furlaniji - Julijski krajini skozi grafiฤne prikaze podatkov in fotografska dela.

Projekt predstavlja ozaveลกฤevalno potovanje o podnebnih spremembah s pomoฤjo podatkov, grafov in fotografij ter povezuje znanstveno razlago pojava z vidnimi spremembami v okolju. Ob tej priloลพnosti bodo prisotni sodelujoฤi v projektu, med njimi profesorji in raziskovalci oddelka DEAMS (Oddelek za ekonomske, poslovne, matematiฤne in statistiฤne vede Univerze v Trstu) ter fotograf Filippo Ferraro. Obiskovalci bodo imeli moลพnost zastavljati vpraลกanja, prisluhniti pojasnilom in izmenjati mnenja o nastanku ter vsebini projekta.

Dogodek bo priloลพnost za boljลกe razumevanje, kako lahko podatki, zbrani med drugim tudi s pomoฤjo ARPA FVG (Deลพelna agencija za varstvo okolja Furlanije - Julijske krajine), in fotografske podobe pripomorejo k jasnejลกemu prikazu uฤinkov podnebnih sprememb na regionalni ravni.
Sreฤanje poteka v okviru festivala Trieste Photo Days, ogled razstave pa je namenjen tako deลพelnim obiskovalcem kot tudi mednarodnemu obฤinstvu festivala.

Visit the exhibition La Forma del Calore to meet the people behind the project and explore climate change in Friuli Venezia Giulia through charts, data and photography.

La Forma del Calore explores climate change through data, graphs and photographs, bringing together the scientific analysis of the phenomenon and the visible transformations taking place across the region. The event will feature the projectโ€™s contributors, Gioia Di Credico, Vincenzo Gioia and Francesco Pauli from DEAMS โ€“ Department of Economics, Business, Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Trieste, alongside photographer Filippo Ferraro.They will meet the audience, answer questions and share insights and reflections on their work.

The event offers an opportunity to explore how data and images can help make the effects of climate change in Friuli Venezia Giulia more understandable. Taking place as part of Trieste Photo Days, the exhibition visit is open to both regional audiences and international festival visitors.

Kijoo Bae, rather than documenting buildings as functional structures, he isolates fragments of architectural forms and transforms them into abstract visual compositions of line, shape, color, light, and shadow. His work investigates how perception can reshape urban space, revealing new relationships between form, space, and meaning.
