The albatross: probably the most romantic animal I’ve ever met.
They mate for life and this means that mated pairs practically never separate until one dies.
These spectacular animals manage to exceed 70 years of age... making this long-term bond something unique.

Did you know that Puffins can flap their wings up to 400 times a minute and speed through the air at up to 88km an hour?
These little beauties really have superpowers!

There is so much life making its way through the Arctic ice in Lofoten that it sometimes seems as if hundreds of ice eggs are about to hatch all at once.

I've been living in symbiosis with photography for 14 years now and it's thanks to shows like this that I forget the disappointments and setbacks that my path has put in front of me.
A friend of mine told me a legend: they say you should never tell a secret in front of a crow, or it will tell Odin.
I don't know why but this story came back to me that night... I guess the intensity of some things make our thoughts unpredictable.

"The Rocks of the Gods" 💚🇳🇴
While scouting that afternoon at Skagsanden Beach I had chosen a totally different foreground to shoot the aurora.
But I hadn't calculated one thing...the tide.
As soon as the show begins, we jump into the car and rush to the beach: however, the sea has retreated by at least twenty metres, revealing these 3 large rocks.
I look at them, but that's a game "to be played in the dark" and it's really complex to compose an image without having first reasoned with the light of the sun.
So I decided not to bet and enjoy the aurora borealis by shooting the compositions I had previously imagined...but with one eye I’m always looking at those rocks with such magnetic shapes.
An hour passes, and by now I'm enjoying the show walking on the beach with the tripod on my shoulder, when solar activity has a sudden surge: in a moment I'm already among those rocks.
It's a paradise of vertical shapes meeting the Northern Lights and I know right away that I'm taking the best photograph of that evening.

That morning in Brown Bluff I set foot on the seventh continent for the first time in my life: the beach was strewn with icebergs and Gentoo and Adelie penguins made their way awkwardly through the ice.
It is not uncommon to see penguins of different species sharing the same territory.
I had to wait a bit but finally I managed to get a representative for both species right in front of this beautiful blue texture.

While I am starting to edit all my shots from the last week in Norway (which I will release soon), my mind goes all the way back to one month ago down in Antarctica.
The Blue-eyed S**g is found on the western side of the Antarctic Peninsula, the Scotia Arc, South Georgia and the western coast of South America.
They are the only members of the Cormorants to venture down into the Antarctic proper, with colonies found as far as 68 degrees south.
They are unique among Antarctic and sub-antarctic birds in that they will maintain a nest year-round where the sea is open and they actively avoid pack ice.
Just another incredible creature that you can find down there.
