Lost in time, standing tall. The Colosseum, a breathtaking masterpiece that whispers stories of ancient glory. Marveling at its grandeur, I can’t help but be captivated by the echoes of history that resonate within its ancient walls. Rome, where the past and present intertwine, leaves me in awe.
Did you know that the Colosseum was originally named the Flavian Amphitheater? Around the 64 A.D. (give it take), there stood a colossal bronze statue of Emperor Nero next to the amphitheater that was commissioned by the Emperor himself. Standing at 30-35 meters tall, it commanded the attention of all of Rome. It is believed that the Colosseum’s name is derived from the statue of Nero the Romans called Colossus.
