There are no amount of Dan Brown novels that could’ve prepared me for how big Il Duomo actually is. It seemed like that iconic dome was behind every corner and at the end of every alley.

This view was the end of the most stressful travel day I have ever had. People joke about how often Italy has transportation strikes, but this was my first one and my worries were compounded by uber drivers who said “this is probably the worst day to travel in the last 10 years” With a lot of luck and a blessing from our trip’s God of Transport (Jon), I somehow managed to get from Florence to Vernazza just in time to watch as sunset passes to twilight.

Do people still post photos? It’s almost been a year since my last one. Well, I’ve been living in Mexico for the past few weeks but I think everybody knew that. I’m thankful that I can work remotely, but that’s what Mexico has been so far: working remotely while trying to take advantage of the evenings. Finally took a few vacation days to visit another Pueblito Mágico and explore somewhere new, and the immediate takeaway is how warm (read: hot) the coast is. Also, had my first aguachile today, that was new!

It took me 1330 days to come back to one of my favorite places in the world. The City of Eternal Spring changed me in so many ways: my hobbies, how I connect with people, what I value in life, how I see the world, and above all, it is the place where I learned what it means to be happy. I won’t wait another +1000 days to come back, that’s for sure.

Glacier has definitely been cemented as one of my favorite national parks. The scenery is stunning at any hike and in any weather. Every day here included at least 5 “what the f***” statements with my jaw on the floor.

The weeks fly by too quickly, and weekends disappear in the blink of an eye. I’m glad I took the time to stop and take in this view though; that was a minute well-spent. Banff, what an incredible National Park.
