I’ve never been very interested in making things happen for the camera.

I’d rather wait.

Let people be themselves, let a moment unfold, let a gesture arrive when it’s ready.
There is something beautiful in not having to direct everything.

Maybe I’ve always looked at things this way.

My father is a graphic designer and painter, and I grew up surrounded by images, shapes, colours, light and shadow. I think some of that stayed with me. I still love watching how light draws a shape, how a shadow changes a space, how moving just a little can change the whole picture.

It’s one of the things I never get tired of.

I think photography has taught me, above all, to look.

To stay a little longer. To notice what happens at the edges, the gestures that last only a second, the way someone looks at someone else when they think nobody is watching. Sometimes the most meaningful moments are the ones that don't ask to be photographed.

They simply happen. And you have to be there.
