Last year I had the chance together with and .official to photograph the faces and stories behind the Krampus in South Tyrol. 👹

Here, they’re more than a winter spectacle – they’re part of a living tradition. Behind every handmade mask and every fur costume stands a local club, a community that spends months preparing for this moment.
For many, being Krampus is more than wearing a costume: it means preserving heritage and carrying a centuries-old tradition forward. And you can feel that spark between old customs and young energy when they come together. 🔥📸

Unreal night.
Always had this image in my head, but never thought it would come true. Sometimes things happen when you least expect it.
I cannot describe the feeling of what it was like to stand there all alone with my hands frozen, but it was worth it.
In the frame: the magnificent Dolomites under the aurora borealis.
Something you really only see once in a lifetime.
Thanks to all who made this possible.
