Hi there!
I think it's about time I did a proper introduction around here.
I'm Marieke and hopefully... possibly... maybe your new favourite photographer.
These photos and videos aren't a beautifully curated collection. They're simply some of my favourite little moments from my camera roll. Because as much as I love creating beautiful imagery, my real life is usually a little messy, wonderfully chaotic, and filled with endless photos of my dogs and horse.
A few things about me...
I've always been an animal lover. When I was little, my brother, nephew and I recorded a Christmas CD for our mums. It even included a song I wrote myself called "I Want All the Animals in the World." While I eventually gave up on owning every animal in existence, I'm now a proud dog mum of three, have an incredible horse and even three snakes.
Photography found me at a young age, inspired by my grandparents. My first muses were of course animals, but over time i became just as fascinated by people and the connections between them.
I photographed my first wedding almost 15 years ago, and I've been in love with documenting love stories ever since. It's an incredible privilege to witness all the smiles, happy tears, quiet glances and little moments that make every wedding unique. My goal is always to capture those memories in a timeless, elegant and editorial way. Images you'll still treasure decades from now.
When I'm not behind my computer editing, you'll usually find me outside. Walking with my dogs, riding my horse (with the dogs tagging along, of course), climbing, or occasionally picking up a pencil or paintbrush when life slows down enough.
I also love live music. There is something magical about experiencing it in person, the energy, the atmosphere, the memories.
And if there's one thing that will probably never change, it's my fascination with light. I love finding beauty in unexpected places and creating photographs that feel timeless... almost like stepping into an old painting.
A few last things...
