Giugno é il mese dell'orgoglio LGBT, perciò volevo mostrare supporto e vicinanza anche io alla mia maniera alla comunità. Troppe volte sentiamo parlare di aggressioni a ragazze/i che hanno l'unica colpa di voler essere se stessi in una società che difficilmente li accetta considerandoli diversi o ancor peggio innaturali. Io personalmente credo che la sola cosa ad essere innaturale in queste situazioni é l'odio nei confronti di queste persone che si trovano spesso ad essere aggredite, bullizzate e costrette a nascondere ciò che sono realmente. Ci definiamo tanto progressisti, e probabilmente lo siamo, basta vedere come ci stiamo evolvendo nella scienza, nella medicina, nelle scoperte, nell'ingegneria aerospaziale ed in tantissimi altri rami che una volta nemmeno avevano un nome; ma a livello umano restiamo spesso e volentieri dei poveri retrogradi, e forse sotto questo campo abbiamo ancora molto molto da imparare. Speriamo in un futuro migliore per tutti, un futuro dove essere se stessi non sarà motivo di vergogna o scandalo. Buon pride month a tutti❤️🏳️‍🌈

📷URBEX PART 6: St. Finocchi Cemetery 📷

In Volterra, right next to the former asylum, there is also his old cemetery to complete the already quite gloomy atmosphere of the place. The cemetery, called San Finocchi, is located in a land bordering the ownership of structure mentioned and is characterized by the presence of tombs formed by a simple cross made of concrete with no name or date. The inpatients buried here are the ones who never are been claimed by the families and that, therefore, not they had no one to bury them. Some tombs are dedicated to several bodies to save space. The conditions are really bad, behind the boundary wall and the closed gate key, there is a much deeper abandonment than it looks like; the patients, already abandoned to them themselves inside the asylum, were abandoned even on their departure. The cemetery, following the abandonment of the asylum himself, has undergone yet another abandonment that he has led to a quick deterioration with the passing of time. A story tells that the director of the asylum, Luigi Scabia, was buried here by his will together with the forgotten patients.

URBEX PART 5: Villa Mirabella

Located to the east of the town of Livorno, the villa is part of a large plot of land kept green, on the edge of which stands a neo-Gothic tower built by the will of the Marquis De Ghantuz Cubbe. The villa, which has been in a state of neglect for decades, is characterized by the remains of a double staircase, on whose vertical a Baroque-style pediment is imported. Inside, traces of murals and a chapel survive.
During the Spanish fever epidemic it served as a hospital and today many people enjoy believing that it is haunted by some entity that does not want to leave.
