This is not a workshop for everyone. It is for the few photographers who understand that excellence is a discipline, not an accident.

Two days. Ten photographers. A study in light, presence, and the art and business of luxury maternity portraiture.

The first day unfolds within the Four Seasons Hotel Milan.
With two guest speakers, we’re going to talk about AI, luxury strategy and branding, client experience and all the steps I took to create an international luxury brand that led me to work worldwide with ultra high end clients.

The second day will be all about action and shooting in my Milan Studio with two pregnant models.

This is the final workshop I will hold in my studio. From this point forward, I will no longer teach in my own space, nor offer sessions where you photograph alongside me and build your portfolio with the images created.

This is the last invitation of its kind.

Where Maternity Becomes Art.
Inspired by Caravaggio’s San Giovanni Battista, this bespoke portrait was commissioned by our lovely client, , to celebrate her second pregnancy.

This is the second time Maria Laura has entrusted us to document one of the most meaningful chapters of her life. Returning to the studio for her second photoshoot, we continued a journey we began years ago.

For her first portrait session, we created a portrait inspired by Raphael’s Sistine Madonna, featuring her firstborn. This time, we expanded that vision with a new artwork inspired by Caravaggio, continuing a series of portraits that will become part of her family’s legacy.

This is what we love most: not simply creating photographs, but transforming motherhood into timeless works of art. Portraits conceived to be treasured, passed down through generations, and celebrated as part of a family’s history.

Every image begins long before the camera is lifted. It starts with research, artistic references, creative direction, styling, lighting design, set planning, and conversations with our client.

Behind every portrait is the work of a dedicated team united by a shared vision, where every detail is carefully considered to bring an artistic concept to life.

Each portrait is bespoke.

My aim is not simply to photograph how someone looks, but to reveal something more enduring: presence, strength, beauty, intimacy and identity.

Every Donatella Nicolini Studio Experience begins long before the camera is lifted.

It begins with a conversation: your story, your vision, the way you wish to be remembered.

From there, every detail is curated around you: the mood, the wardrobe, the accessories, the glam, the light, the posing, the final artworks.

You are guided through each chapter with complete care and discretion. No modelling experience is required. You do not need to know how to pose or what to wear.

You simply arrive.

The artistry, direction and transformation are entrusted to us.

I do not believe in simply documenting how someone looks.

I believe in creating Art from who they are.

Portraiture for me, has never been simply about creating a beautiful photograph.

It is about presence, identity, legacy and transformation.

About seeing a woman beyond the way she is used to see herself.

I create something deeply personal that will remain long after the moment has passed.

Over the years, my work has taken me across countries, stages, exhibitions and international publications.

I’ve had the privilege of receiving important industry awards, representing some of the world’s most respected photographic brands and sharing my vision with photographers around the world.

Each recognition has been meaningful.

But the heart of my work has always remained the same: the woman standing in front of my camera.
