An off-road motorcycle tour on the Ouarzazate-Merzouga route. I rode with the group and photographed it: stills, photos and videos from the drone.

What the frames leave out. The chill of the first ride of the morning and the sweat a few hours later from keeping the bike upright. How differently it answers on sand, on gravel, in a river bed. Sand in my mouth after a long ride. Kids in the small villages wanting a high five as I rode through. Tajine, mostly. Deep sleep after tiring days. The hospitality of the people.

This is the work I want more of: stills, motion and aerials from one person, for tour operators and expeditions.

The Louvre was robbed a few days ago. Diamonds gone, tiaras missing. Centuries of royal vanity erased in a few minutes.

Meanwhile, far away from Paris, I’m shooting portraits that can’t be stolen. They exist in my memory, then in my camera and finally in a shared folder that will last long enough for you to download them forever.

My work has never been bought by The Louvre (and probably never will). But it doesn’t belong behind a glass, it belongs to those who dare to step in front of the lens 📸
