Inizia così l’intervista a Marzi Corraini che, più di quaranta anni fa, fondava, con il marito Maurizio Corraini, l'omonima galleria d’arte e la casa editrice a Mantova. Il libro in questione è MN1, il libro illeggibile progettata da Munari nel 1984 appositamente per la Corraini, oggi arrivato alla sua ottava riedizione. “

“My research in photography starts with color. I am fascinated by certain types of shades that only blue and red would provide. They'd create suspension and also add a mystical dimension to the image.
This research began in 2019 with photos that seemed to anticipate the lockdown occurring in 2020. The photos of this project vary from landscapes to portraits.
By creating abstract characters in my mind, photography, moreover, also captures each and every inner aspect of me.”

Passionately engaged in the social and political harsh realities of Palermo, self-taught photojournalist Letizia Battaglia shed light on atrocities of Sicilian mafia
through her unsettling black & white photos. Images of murders, degraded neighborhoods, and violence with strong aesthetic qualities.

Her shocking images confronted the mafia as “she faced up to the fear they instilled and refused to be afraid at a time when it could have cost her her life.”

“I couldn’t understand why we don’t feel good in a changing body, despite being a natural process.
Physical change is an inevitable event of time, however it can also happen drastically. This is the point, the emotional process can be too much sometimes.
If we were used to think and define our bodily identity more closely to reality, the feeling of detachment from the so-called normality would have been different.”
