Kuang Si Falls is a “must-see” attraction in Luang Prabang.

The falls are truly spectacular and most of the pools are open for swimming (one is closed as being a sacred site), they're clearly marked. Be prepared though, the water is very cold.

This path originated in the early 1900s as a narrow walkway that allowed those in charge of the El Chorro power plant to maintain the installations in the area.

The name derives from the fact that in 1921 the king came to attend the inauguration of new reservoirs pertaining to the power plant and overlooked part of this scenic path.

Since then, the passage of time and gradual abandonment have turned this path into an adventure for daredevils.
In the 1990s, following the deaths of four hikers, it was decided to close the accesses and penalise offenders.

It was only in 2013 that a project was approved to revive the current Caminito del Rey.

The semi-elliptical shape of the Plaza de España symbolises the embrace between Spain and its former colonies.

In addition, it is oriented towards the Guadalquivir, the river that runs through Seville, the place where the journey to America, the former colonies, began.
