Music, art, pop culture, photography, and personal growth.

A year ago, when I started teaching as a freelance coach and later became a lecturer at
Edison School | Lingue & Informatica, I began applying my own method to teaching.

I dismantled most of what I had seen and experienced when I was sitting at school desks, because I’ve always strongly believed there could be another way to educate people.

I began developing awareness when I noticed the difference between high school and attending Poliarte | Accademia di Design: in the latter, I found passionate teachers, some of whom stood outside the norm, completely breaking away from traditional teaching methods (and thankfully so, I’d say!).

One of them was Paolo Monina . When he started the photography course, he didn’t get lost in trivial technicalities—in fact, for those, he simply recommended a book. I bought it, barely skimmed through it, and realized that photography is not just about technique (you do need it), but about emotion and culture.

Monina did much more: he taught us how to observe, to discover, to explore fashion, art, and music to dive into all these worlds and understand how they constantly communicate with one another.

Take Andy Warhol, for example: through him, you can talk about photography, about Richard Avedon, about music with David Bowie, about the Factory, pop culture, and a thousand other things.

When I started teaching, I carried all of this with me first and foremost because I strongly believe in the importance of general culture, especially for younger students.

Educating towards personal growth and appreciating beauty with a sensitive eye is the foundation of my teaching method.

When I mention great musicians or artists and see heads shaking in response to the question, “You know who that is, right?”, something opens up inside me a space where I can take the opportunity to help the person in front of me grow. Of course, I admit that at first I might run my hands through my hair, with a hint of surprise and ironic despair. But it’s exactly when someone doesn’t know something that you have the chance to make them more sensitive and fascinate them with something new through stories, unknown anecdotes, photos, and videos.

In my lessons, I talk about music, about immense artists like Riccardo Cocciante and Franco Battiato, then move into niche perfumery like Etat Libre d'Orange, adding elements of personal growth along the way.

These are worlds that truly light me up because I’m deeply passionate about them—and this inevitably sparks something in the people in front of me. They become captivated by the energy I bring into what I explain and are taught to see.

Personally, I believe that all teachers and educators have a moral responsibility toward every student: to spark passion, to nurture sensitivity, and above all, to uncover what makes each of them unique.

Joanna and Rudy, photographed in Portovenere, Italy, for their wedding anniversary.

What is truly the best location in the Cinque Terre for a photoshoot?
As a local photographer, before answering, I always start with one thing: listening.

Every story is different.
A couple, a family, a solo traveler — all with the same desire to capture a moment, yet each with completely unique needs.

Some look for ease and accessibility, others for something more intimate, hidden, almost secret.
My role is exactly this: to find the right place for each story.

When Joanna reached out to me, she wanted to gift Rudy a photoshoot for their anniversary, I immediately knew it had to be something special.
A place with poetry, silence, atmosphere.

Portovenere.
Romantic, authentic, suspended in time.
Even more so at dawn, when the light is soft, delicate, almost like a caress.

The perfect way to turn a moment into something that lasts.

If you’re thinking about a photoshoot in Liguria or Tuscany, we can create it together.

As a freelancer, I choose which public holidays to observe.

For many, today is a day off.
For me, it’s simply another day to show up and do the work I love.

When I recently scheduled appointments right on May 1st, several clients kindly asked me:
“Sara, are you sure? It’s a holiday… wouldn’t you rather reschedule?”

My answer is always the same, instinctive: if someone wants a photoshoot or wants to invest in their growth, for me there are no dates imposed by the calendar or by the crowd.

Those who know me are aware: I often finish coaching sessions even at 9:00 PM,
and I’m also available on Sundays.

Why?

First of all, because I deeply love what I do.
And that alone would already be enough as an answer.

But there’s more.

I know that my availability especially when others stop can become a valuable resource.
For those who have little time, for those who work a lot, for those who can finally allow themselves a moment for themselves.

Hearing “I’m here. Let’s do a three-hour session today.” can make all the difference.

And this morning, a client, before ending the call, told me:
“Thank you for everything you do.”

It’s in those moments that I realize how real the impact of my work is.

I decide which holidays matter. They don’t decide for me anymore.

Live from Caffè Gilli, the perfect setting to capture visual content inspired by a lesser-known side of Italian cultural heritage.

Today’s focus: the world of chocolate in Italy, a story of craftsmanship, rituals, and refined taste that not many people are aware of.

As a photographer and visual designer, I’m drawn to places where atmosphere and aesthetics become the right frame to tell deeper, often overlooked stories.

Ever since I was a child, I’ve always been fascinated by the little vineyard trains of Cinque Terre.

Partly because of how unique they are, so small, yet so useful and efficient, and partly because they quietly pass through some of the most beautiful landscapes in Italy, carrying the fruits of a land shaped by hard work and tradition.

Whenever I saw them, I always wondered what it would feel like to ride one.

Last Monday, I finally found out.

As a guest of Cantina Cinque Terre, President Matteo Bonanini invited me to hop on board to capture a few photos from above.

Accompanied by Daniel Chirico, I had the chance to do not just one, but two mini tours, one of them right on the edge of the sea.

It was an indescribable feeling crossing the terraced vineyards surrounded by the scent of the Mediterranean, while photographing and filming every moment.

Another childhood dream, came true!

A year ago, when I started working as a freelancer, I set a clear guideline for myself: to make sure my work would not only reflect professionalism and expertise, but also the values that truly represent me.

Empathy, kindness, and attentiveness.

These are the three pillars I carry with me in every project, alongside a constant desire to grow, improve, and refine both my personal and professional perspective.

It is also thanks to this approach that today I’m able to offer professionals, both in Italy and abroad, a complete and highly personalized service, built with care, attention, and genuine dedication.

From photography to visual design, what I always try to put at the center is not only the final result, but above all the person behind it.

And receiving words like the ones my dear client, personal chef Priscila Preussler - In The Kitchen With Priscila, dedicated to me is a truly meaningful confirmation: working with values, ethics, and authenticity always pays off.

Thank you to everyone who chooses to place their trust in me.
And a special thank you to Priscila for these beautiful words.

On this armchair, I conducted one of the interviews I had dreamed of since I was a teenager, with a truly special person.

With my social media project, where I usually stop strangers, interview them, and photograph them, I decided to reach out to well-known personalities who truly reflect my values.

In this person, I found humility, warmth, kindness, and a genuine desire to share their story authentically.

The hint is in the photo, but I can already tell you it was a wonderful conversation… who do you think it might be?
