After so much time, I return to share with a sense of modesty I don’t recognize… almost a new reluctance toward something I once inhabited with ease.
A fracture has formed between the intimacy of these images and the space in which I offer them, as if over the years the collective capacity to linger beyond the surface has dissolved, to recognize artistic intention where now only exposed flesh is sought.
I fear misunderstanding, reduction.
I wish so deeply that the way bodies are looked at would change.
Yet these evanescent Polaroids, embody precisely this: the vulnerability of being seen, when one no longer controls the gaze of others.
