The best place to tie the knot has to be the city of love!

While you’re probably used to seeing stunning elopement out in nature, Paris has to be one of the top cities to actually get married in, not only for it’s nickname, but because every corner of this city is so iconic! The classic Parisian architecture, walks along the Seine, and all the views of classic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, The Louvre and more!

Skip the Dolomites, this European mountain location tops it (literally, it’s higher elevation!)

I’m going to say something that might annoy Pinterest a little bit.

If you want jaw-dropping alpine elopement energy, you should seriously be looking at Chamonix.

Yes, it’s in France! (There are cool mountains in France)

Let’s talk about it!

First, elevation and drama.

Chamonix is sitting right at the base of the highest peak in Western Europe. You’re not just getting “pretty mountains in the distance.” You’re getting full-scale, towering, glacial, slightly intimidating alpine energy that makes everything feel cinematic without trying!

The Dolomites are stunning, obviously. But Chamonix feels… cooler! It gives “this is nature showing off and you just happened to show up in a wedding dress.”

Second, accessibility.

For American couples, this matters more than people admit.

Chamonix is significantly easier to get to compared to a lot of deep alpine spots. You can fly into Geneva, hop a bus, and you’re basically there. No long winding multi-leg mountain logistics that eat half your travel day and your sanity.

You arrive faster, which means you actually get to spend your time doing the thing you came for!

Third, variety in one location.

You get glaciers, dramatic peaks, glassy lakes, alpine meadows, cable cars, and villages that look like they were designed specifically for romance movies.

It’s a full range of European mountain storytelling in one place and that’s the real reason people choose it!

Not because it’s trendy or because it’s on someone’s list, but because it feels like the kind of place where your elopement actually becomes an experience, not just a photoshoot!

You’re not just standing in front of mountains, you’re moving through them!

This is what you actually want when you leave the U.S. for your elopement. It’s not just pretty scenery, Chamonix is a one of a kind experience!

the dreamiest day in the Dolomites!

There’s a reason why this spot is so popular, but Sadie, King, and I lucked out last July by getting an evening to ourselves on this short hike near Cortina! We took in the panoramic views of the alps, listened to cowbells in the distance, and frolicked through the fields with cutie huts behind us!

Why Americans hire me for their Europe elopement!

1. I’m an American who now lives in Europe

I don’t just “shoot in Europe,” I actually live here and travel regularly to all different countries!

I understand what it feels like to land in a completely new country where everything is beautiful and slightly disorienting at the same time. You’re excited, a little overwhelmed, and trying to figure out how to be present while also just navigating it all!

That perspective changes how I help plan your elopement + give you resources that are actually helpful

1. I notice the parts of Europe locals are used to!

Locals walk past certain streets, views, light, and little corners every day because it’s normal life to them! They don’t have the same fascination with architecture like I do!

The way light hits old stone for five minutes and turns everything cinematic, the country’s flag waving in the distance, how a little cafe screams “Italy” in the best way are all things I look for when shooting your day!

I know how to intentionally build those into your photos so your gallery doesn’t just say “we got married” it’s obvious you got married in Europe!!

1. I help you navigate the whole thing, not just the photos

You’re not just hiring me to show up and take pictures on the day, you’re getting someone who already knows the country you’re coming to!

When you’re planning something in a country you’ve never stepped foot in, having someone who already knows how it all moves takes a huge weight off your shoulders. You don’t have to figure it out alone, you don’t have to gamble on timing or guesswork, you just get a plan that actually works in real life! (and my room mate is from Italy and can translate stuff for us 😉)

1. Communication is easy and natural

A big difference couples notice when planning a wedding abroad is the language barrier and cultural differences! Since I’m from the states originally, I’m really familiar with the expectations Americans have on their wedding vendors, and odds are we both have the same accent! (I’m from Oregon, but still say “yall” lol)

Most couples forget these very key photos when they get married in Greece!

When you travel all the way across an ocean for your wedding or elopement, you really want to make sure your entire experience is captured! That’s why limiting photo coverage to one day is such a sad idea!
N+E got married in Greece last year, and instead of continuing their celebration by hiring a boat and trying to take selfies with their phones, they brought me along for a couple more hours! They’re big fans of the outdoors and worked together as lifeguards, so spending a day on Milos swimming in a sea felt like a great way to celebrate their first day of marriage!

If swimming in an ocean isn’t really your speed, no worries! So many couples spend the rest of their vacation in Europe going to cafes, heading to a different city to explore, riding horses through the French countryside, or having a picnic with a view of the alps!
Your photographer doesn’t have to head out after your big day is over! You can continue capturing memories from your elopement over multiple days 🥳

Need a photographer who will hype you up while you eat pasta? I’m in.

Like fully, enthusiastically, no hesitation.

Because if we’re doing Italy engagement photos, we are NOT pretending you’re delicate porcelain statues who only sip water and stare meaningfully into the distance.

No.

We are doing pasta. We are doing bread baskets that mysteriously never empty. We are doing “we’ll just share one plate” and then aggressively ordering three more.

And I will be right there like:
YES. TAKE ANOTHER BITE. THIS IS ART. THIS IS ROMANCE. THIS IS WHY WE CAME HERE.

Italy does something to people that makes them forget how to act normal in the best way.

Suddenly you’re kissing in doorways like you’ve known each other in every past life.
You’re laughing too loud in tiny trattorias.
You’re twirling pasta like it’s a personality trait.
You’re leaning into each other like the chairs are just suggestions.

And I’m not going to interrupt that for “perfect posing.”

I’m going to let it happen.

Because the best photos don’t come from controlling the moment. They come from living it so hard you forget there’s even a camera nearby.

I’ll guide you when needed, hype you when you’re second guessing, and absolutely encourage the pasta break because honestly that might be the most romantic part of the entire shoot.

This is engagement photos, but make it:
chaotic, joyful, slightly messy, and completely real.

You’re not here to perform love.
You’re here to be in it.

This route is for the couples who want their Edinburgh photos to feel like:

a love story mixed with a fantasy movie and a tiny identity crisis.

Because the SECOND you get to Arthur’s Seat, the city starts looking offensively beautiful.

You’re standing on top of an ancient volcano getting emotionally attacked by wind while Edinburgh stretches out behind you looking all dramatic and mysterious like it has secrets.

Peak romance honestly.

Then we head down into the city where the Tollbooth Clock gives that old Edinburgh charm that makes everything feel a little haunted in a hot way.

And St Giles Cathedral?

Absolutely disrespectful levels of cinematic.

Towering architecture. Moody light. Tiny-human-in-an-ancient-city energy. You two standing there looking deeply in love while tourists aggressively side quest around us.

This route is for people who want:

movement, adventure, dramatic skyline views, and photos that feel less “wedding industry” and more “we ran away to Scotland and accidentally made art.”

Also fair warning:

your hair will probably get destroyed by wind at least once.

That is part of the experience.

That is the texture.

That is cinema.
