Salve a tutti! Faccio parte del gruppo EAV che organizza l'osservazione con i telescopi 🔭 dei pianeti 🪐e della luna 🌙 alla Sagra Di San Massimo. Avviso che saremo presenti sabato 26 e domenica 27, mentre non ci saremo venerdì 25, come invece indicato nel volantino. Vi chiediamo gentilmente di condividere la notizia con amici e familiari che siano interessati. Ci potete trovare all'ingresso di Via XXIV Giugno del Parco Cuore Verde dalle ore 21 circa. Anche quest’anno è’ arrivato il momento della tradizionale di San Massimo . Vi aspettiamo presso il Parco Cuore Verde da giovedi 24 a mercoledi 30 agosto !!!

E dopo tanto tempo dall'ultimo post rieccoci, ci siamo ancora. Ho fatto "maturare" un bel po' di tempo questa immagine 😅 Primo utilizzo del filtro Ha, utilizzato per potenziare l'RGB. Uno dei soggetti più famosi del profondo cielo, la Nebulosa Proboscide di Elefante è una nebulosa oscura (che prende il nome vdB 142) che si staglia sulla retrostante nebulosa diffusa IC 1396.

And after a long time since the last post we're back, we're still here. I let this image "mature" quite some time 😅 First use of the Ha filter, used to enhance the RGB. One of the most famous deep-sky subjects, the Elephant's Trunk Nebula is a dark nebula (named after vdB 142) that stands out against the underlying diffuse nebula IC 1396.

Potendo approfittare della gentile ospitalità dell'amico Mattia Candelato e del suo cielo che, pur sempre della pianura, è decisamente migliore di quello cittadino, ho scattato per la prima volta un ammasso globulare.
Il grande ammasso di Ercole deve il suo nome al fatto di essere il più grande ammasso globulare del nostro emisfero boreale e domina le notti di inizio estate. Forse meno apperiscenti di nebulose e galassie, gli ammassi globulari sono però oggetti molto interessanti, infatti si ritiene che possano essere il nucleo di galassie nane che sono inglobate dalla nostra Via Lattea.

Being able to take advantage of the kind hospitality of my friend Mattia Candelato and of his sky which, although still of the plain, is much better than the city one, I took a globular cluster for the first time.
The great cluster of Hercules owes its name to the fact that it is the largest globular cluster in our northern hemisphere and dominates the nights of early summer. Perhaps less striking than nebulae and galaxies, globular clusters are however very interesting objects, in fact it is believed that they may be the nucleus of dwarf galaxies that are englobed by our Milky Way.

Durante lo scorso febbraio, perversando ancora la pandemia, mi sono ritrovato a dover scattare nuovamente dal terrazzo di casa, limitato quindi al solo nord. Ho deciso di sfruttare questa costrizione per andare ad aggiungere integrazione ad un soggetto che avevo ripreso quasi un anno prima, motivato dal fatto che, poiché immerso nelle luci della città di Verona, per ottenere dei risultati decenti l'unica via è quella di incrementare il segnale.
Spero si riesca ad apprezzare il miglioramento rispetto all'anno scorso.

During last February, the pandemic continues, I found myself having to shoot again from the terrace of my house, therefore limited to the north only. I decided to take advantage of this constraint to add integration to a subject that I had shot almost a year earlier, motivated by the fact that, since I am immersed in the lights of the city of Verona, to obtain decent results the only way is to add signal.
I hope you can appreciate the improvement over last year.

Forse le potrei risultare ripetitivo nelle mie introduzioni, nella quali dico ormai sempre che il soggetto di ogni immagine è il mio preferito/è uno dei più belli del firmamento, ma purtroppo, secondo me, è davvero così: l'astrofotografia del profondo cielo regala ad ogni nuovo soggetto un senso di meraviglia mai pago.
Questa volta osserviamo la bellissima Nebulosa Bolla, nella costellazione di Cassiopea, ad una distanza di 11.000 anni luce. La caratteristica forma a sfera è dovuta al vento stellare derivante dalla stella al suo interno (quella più luminosa, le altre sono di sfondo).
La sessione è stata suddivisa tra la montagna insieme all'amico Marco Lo Re, in una nottata in cui ci sono state parecchie nuvole, e a casa del gentile Mattia Candelato, che mi ha permesso di sfruttare il suo cielo, che se pur in pianura è decisamente migliore del mio.

Perhaps I could be repetitive in my introductions, in which I always say by now that the subject of each image is my favorite / it is one of the most beautiful in the firmament, but unfortunately, in my opinion, it is really like this: deep sky astrophotography gives to each new subject a sense of wonder never satisfied.
This time we look at the beautiful Bubble Nebula, in the constellation of Cassiopeia, at a distance of 11,000 light years. The characteristic sphere shape is due to the stellar wind coming from the star inside it (the brightest one, the others are in the background).
The session was divided between the mountains together with my friend Marco Lo Re, on a night when there were several clouds, and at the house of the kind Mattia Candelato, who allowed me to take advantage of his sky, which, even if on the plain, is definitely better than mine.

Circa un anno dopo (vai a guardare i primi post della mia pagina), torno su questo bellissimo soggetto, ma questa volta andiamo ad inquadrare il dettaglio della punta del "cuore", che da questa prospettiva si trasforma in un pesce dall'enorme coda svolazzante che nuota a circa 7.500 anni luce da noi.
Siamo aiutati a riconoscere questo nuovo protagonista grazie alle polveri oscure che delineano le branchie.
Il piccolo ammasso di stelle che ingioiellava il centro della coda si chiama Melotte 15.

About a year later (go and look to the first posts of my page), I return to this beautiful subject, but this time going to frame the detail of the tip of the "heart", which from this perspective turns into a fish from the huge fluttering tail that swims about 7,500 light years from us.
We are helped in recognizing this new protagonist thanks to the dark powders that outlinea the gills.
The small cluster of stars that bejeweled the center of the tail is called Melotte 15.

Nebulosa a riflessione, cioè nubi di polveri illuminate dalla luce riflessa proveniente da stelle vicine, nella costellazione di Cefeo a 1.400 anni luce di distanza.

Cometa C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE) ☄️

La più bella e luminosa cometa che abbia avuto modo di fotografare e la prima che sia riuscito ad osservare (dalla città possibile solamente con l'ausilio di un binocolo).
La vicinanza al sole la rende visibile solo per un arco temporale ristretto prima dell'alba, ma rimarrà di sicuro un bellissimo ricordo.

The most beautiful and bright comet that I had the opportunity to photograph and the first that I can observe (from the city possible only with the aid of binoculars).
The proximity to the sun makes it visible only for a narrow period of time before sunrise, but it will certainly remain a beautiful memory.
