TEN BUFFALOS
Thập mục ngưu đồ, or ten pictures of buffalo herding, is a series of short poems and accompanying drawings used in the Zen tradition to describe the stages of a practitioner’s progress toward enlightenment, and their return to society to enact wisdom and compassion. Nhà Sàn Collective in Hanoi invited global artists to submit One Minutes in response to these stages, selecting ten videos.

The premiere of The TEN BUFFALOS project was in januari at Á Space in Hanoi, Vietnam and at the end of January it was shown at The Aksara Festival, Jakarta, Indonesia.

Participating artists: Nguyễn Mỹ Anh, Nguyen Hoang Anh, Lê Xuân Tiến, Kuskfursti, Raimon Sibilo, Bas Schevers, padaleci, Mai La, Hai Duy, Isabelle Pauwelyn, Lieven Nollet.

DER RECHTE WEG (The Right Way) by Fischli and Weiss (1983, CH, 55 min)In 'The Right Way', a rat and a bear go hiking in the free, so-called unspoiled countryside, at the mercy of the elements, of all sorts of miracles – and, above all, of themselves. With pure hearts and a lot of goodwill, they try to find reasons for all they see and experience. Voluntarily, they sometimes find themselves closer than expected to the right way.

Fischli/WeissPeter Fischli and David Weiss are an artist duo that have been collaborating since 1979. They are considered one of the worlds top contemporary artists. Their best known work is the film “The Way Things Go” (Der Lauf der Dinge). This was described by The Guardian as being “Post Apocalyptic” as it is all about chain reactions and the way in which objects fly, crash, and explode across the studio it was shot in. Fischli/Weiss have represented Switzerland at the Venice Biennale several times.
