Kanjon rijeke Haraz, usječen duboko u padine Damavanda (5610m), najvišeg vrha Alborz gorja u Iranu, kroz koji vodi jedna od žila kucavica koje povezuju glavni grad Teheran s obalom Kaspijskog mora. Dolina rijeke je ovdje na oko 2000m visine, što je čak 3600m ispod vrha Damavanda, dok je greben u pozadini Doberar (4072m).

The Haraz River Canyon, cut deep into the slopes of Damavand (5610m), the highest peak of the Alborz Mountains in Iran, through which runs one of the important roads that connect the capital Tehran with the coast of the Caspian Sea. The river valley here is at an altitude of about 2000m, which is as much as 3600m below the peak of Damavand, while the Doberar ridge is in the background (4072m).

Vizualno zanimljiva, ali njima dolje ne baš zabavna situacija koja je relativno česta u ljetnim vikendima na autocesti A1 na Velebitu prema tunelu Sveti Rok. Ali bar se nađe vremena za uživati u krajoliku, ako je ikome do toga u tim trenucima jer kolone se znaju protezati kilometrima

Danas na Velebitu nije nedostajalo dramatike i igre svjetla i sjene kako je jak JZ vjetar nanosio na vrhove teške oblake pred nadolazeću frontu dok je sunce povremeno pronalazilo put kroz njih
