Hidden Treasures - I’ve always believed that the essence of my photography is capturing unseen beauty—the kind that isn’t obvious or demanding of attention. I look for the details that most people walk right past. When people see me stop, completely lost in a moment, they notice, but they don’t always understand. They wonder how I can be fascinated by cracks in the pavement or crumbling paint, or what could possibly be mesmerizing about an old letterbox.
Once, a friend said to me, “Noa, you find beauty even in the grass. I don’t even notice the grass.”
I don’t entirely know why or how I see the world this way; I just do. I can sit on the ground for hours photographing insignificant bits of dust or dirt, driven by a feeling that I simply have to translate into a visual image. Perhaps I am creating my own world—a place where the little things become the big things, and an old letterbox is just the entrance to Narnia. 🌿💚

The little things matter. The cracks on the terracotta pots; the uneven, sun-baked walls of the houses; the peeling paint on old buildings revealing glimpses of original powder-blue. I love the scatter of tiny pink flowers and the heavy scent of jasmine drifting beneath the kitchen window. There is mint wilding on the roadside, and swallows slicing through the air at dawn and dusk. There are the local cats I’ve named: Curious, Funny Nose, Mao, and Fluffy.
All around us, the green hills roll on. It is a perfectly imperfect setting. The steep, rolling streets make your heart pound—a built-in workout. Sometimes, the silence here is louder than the roar of a rock concert. The sky holds a million shades of blue, and the sun bakes the heavy stones of my two-hundred-year-old house. All day long, the birds sing their hearts out.
Yesterday someone suggested: home is where the heart is. Is my heart here?
Where is yours?

I guess I’m waiting for a sign. Maybe magic? ✨ Something that tells me, shows me, and makes me certain that after all, everything was meant to be and all of this makes sense.
Lately, I’ve been craving a sense of belonging—something to reassure me that I have a purpose here. By “here,” I mean in this house, and in a larger context, here in Italy. But that feeling just doesn’t want to come.
It’s made me wonder: Do we actually “need” that feeling? Do we have to belong to a specific country or a physical place?
Maybe “home,” after all, is really something we carry inside of us. Maybe we don’t need a physical space surrounded by specific objects to feel reassured that “yes, this is where I belong. This is my place on Earth.” What do you think, lovely Insta community? Do you find home in a place, or within yourself? 🏡🌍

Not much to say today—or maybe, just too much. I’m facing a lot of pressure right now with a big decision to make. My mind is flooded with thoughts, but it’s hard to find the words to let them out.
I love my house, and it’s finally exactly how I wanted it. Yet, I’m still not sure if living in Italy is my true path. I’m giving myself this summer to make a final decision. Last September, I actually had a buyer—a lovely couple from Copenhagen. I would have been happy selling to them, but I just wasn’t ready to let go. Now, the regrets are creeping in because my future here feels so uncertain.
I’ve been heavily struggling with this since September. I’m putting my heart out there hoping some of you can relate, and that maybe sharing this will help light my way forward.
How do you approach major life decisions? How do you know when it’s truly right or wrong?
Thank you for listening, and sending much love to you all 🌿

I was born to love nature. Even as a child, I couldn’t resist touching and smelling every plant and flower I passed—and I am no different today. In my village, rosemary bushes grow wild and abundant, filling the air with a heavenly scent. I can never pass them without rubbing the leaves between my fingers to release that incredible aroma.
Two weeks ago, a lovely neighbour invited me over for tea. She brewed a fresh blend of mint, verbena, thyme, and rosemary, all plucked straight from her garden. The flavor was beyond words. I feel incredibly blessed to have such amazing, natural remedies right on my doorstep.
My absolute favorite herb is rosemary, with verbena coming in a close second. What is yours? 🪴

Finding treasures deep in the woods - I can’t remember the last time I truly lost myself in photography—the last time I allowed myself to create without the constriction of time or tasks. There is something magical about working on something out of pure joy, for the simple sake of creation.
When you don’t care what others think, and you don’t feel the need to explain yourself. It’s just a pure flow of positive energy and the joy of capturing the world exactly as you see it.
To some, this image might mean absolutely nothing—all they might see is a tiny yellow dot. But to me, it was like finding gold. These little yellow flowers sparked in the darkness of the forest like tiny lanterns in the middle of the night.
What is feeding your creative flow right now? 🌿

Re-start or a new chapter ?
I’ve been struggling with my creative work pretty much since we got out of the lockdown.
The pandemic hit me hard. I know I’m not alone with this. I lost my job as a photographer just when I got contracted to work on a 5* cruise ship between Norway and the UK.
I got stuck in London, and being a portrait/wedding photographer, I needed a new source of inspiration that got me going. I found beauty and serenity in objects. I was taking pictures all day, every day.
Slowly the restrictions ended and the world had started opening its doors too, however I could no longer imagine to work on a ship, after being locked in for so long. My pre-pandemic life seemed just like an illusion. I took on an office job and the creative part of me slowly started fading away. There were other circumstances that did not help to access the creative part of my brain.
I had many attempts to continue, to pick up the pieces where I left, but the challenges from life kept hitting me too hard, and even when I created pieces that were pleasing my eyes, they could not please my soul. All I could see was images that felt and looked empty as the essence of me was missing.
Sometimes I even asked: did I actually take these images?
Last week I took a deep breath and went for a walk in my little village to once again try and reconnect with the artist I was once before, to see if she’s still there. After many years of feeling empty when picking up my camera, it finally felt liberating to capture little details, glimpse of light and the world around me, the way I see it.
I invite you to join me and follow my steps on this creative quest and see where and what I end up with.
Wishing you all a beautiful week 🌿

It’s been a long time since I took a proper self-portrait—not a quick phone selfie, but a carefully composed image captured with my camera and the help of a wonderful assistant.
Why the silence? Truthfully, I find aging difficult. Friends often tell me I’m too critical of myself, and they’re likely right. It’s never easy to notice the subtle signs of time passing. But it is what it is. I am learning to be kinder to myself, embracing the fact that life is a journey, and that we earn the marks left on our faces.
Spring in Hungary this year is breathtaking. Nature has erupted in color, with new blooms appearing week by week. My favorite is the purple wisteria; everything about it is mesmerizing—the shape, the color, and the scent. Walking through them in full bloom feels like stepping onto another planet, or into a fantasy film.
I truly needed the day this photo was taken. The past few weeks have been emotionally overwhelming. My home country, Hungary, is undergoing massive changes, and for the first time in a long time, I feel like I can finally breathe here. Leaving over twenty years ago was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made, and I’m only now realizing how deeply that experience wounded me. This picture marks a turning point: for the first time in my life, I am truly proud of my Hungarian roots, and I have genuine hope for a brighter future here. 🇭🇺 🤍
