Some time ago, I saw a film set in Alghero, called Chi Salverà Le Rose. A central part to the plot revolved around a series of 365 sunsets photographed from a particular location in Alghero.
Sunsets in Alghero are just breathtaking: the sun always sets on the sea, and the colours it creates are unique. I've been inspired by the idea from the film, but I wanted to do my own version of it: I'm going to take a photo of a sunset in Alghero each week (as opposed to daily), but from different locations all over our coastline. There are so many beautiful places in the city and its surroundings, and each of them has its unique light and panorama depending on the position of the sun in the sky throughout the year.

Yesterday afternoon I came back home from grocery shopping, tired and angry at people still assembling to chitchat as if nothing were going on around them. I took off my mask, left it wherever and went on to put the groceries in place. Then I noticed my mask had landed on the small rose bouquet I keep by the door. It reminded me of the book title, El Amor En Los Tiempos Del Cólera (Love In The Time of Cholera). The bouquet looked like such a small token of normal, everyday life, something pretty, innocent and happy, and yet the mask hanging on top of it was a reminder of the disaster we're going through.
But I choose to believe that beauty underneath will endure, and I hope that at the end of this situation we'll come on top more responsible, united and supportive of one another.
My best wishes to everyone: I hope you're all safe, healthy, and stay optimistic. Science will find a remedy and it will be over; in the meantime, let's all be responsible and contribute to each other's safety.
