Anirudh Kiran Photography This page showcases my Wildlife Passion through photos Photography involves a lot of patience . It's not just about going into the wild and taking photographs .

It's about waiting for the right time and the right moment and making good images .The main focus of making images, according to me, is to be able to move the masses, inspire them into conserving our wildlife and nature. I am a student and hence Photography is just a hobby . I am hoping that this becomes a serious passion and one day , a part time job. This page depicts my love for wildlife and I have expressed it through my pictures .

Tiger
Kabini | July 2017

The evening safari of 4th July was one of the most rewarding safaris of my life. This tiger gave us an amazing sighting and I got to record behaviours that I had never witnessed before. It used this tree to stretch and free up its claws( as seen in the photo), climbed on top of it, got down and disappeared into the thick monsoon bushes. We left the spot in search of the elusive Black Panther. Later we were told that this same tiger came out of the bushes, stalked a herd of spotted deer and even tried to hunt( which was unsuccessful). But during that time we were witnessing the spectacle of the Black Panther. So no hard feelings there 😉

Black Panther
Kabini | July 2017
My dream came true with the sighting of this beautiful cat last week. It was sitting right next to the safari track on a tree for about half an hour.
We had just sighted a tiger for about half an hour before this. I had assumed that our cat quota for the day was over, but little did I know that lady luck had something amazing in store for us. Photograph taken at 200mm focal length.

Leopard
Kabini | October 2016

It was our final evening safari at Kabini when we got a call saying that there was a Tiger at a waterhole. We rushed to the waterhole, but unfortunately for us, the Tiger had come down to the water hole to drink water twice, but we had missed it. When we reached there, the tiger was still sleeping behind the bushes. We could see its body, but not its head. We waited for about 45 minutes for it show mercy on us, but it didn't. At the same time, we got another call saying that a leopard was sleeping on a tree, right next to the safari track in the open. We were in a dilemma. What if we leave and the tiger decides to have a drink and we miss it again and the long, anxious wait would be for nothing or what if we miss the Leopard too. We decided to leave the tiger alone and head for the Leopard. We reached the spot and there he was, lazing on the tree, belly full, without a care of the 3 other jeeps at the spot. I had never seen anything that big on a tree ever, the bold male leopard of Kabini. It was around 6:00 PM on a winter evening and the light was fading fast. We had limited time as the safari was nearing its end. Nevertheless, I managed to make a few images. It was my first sighting of a Leopard on a tree and it was an amazing one.

Tigress
Kabini | October 2016

It was a misty morning on a cold October day. It was my third trip to this mystical forest. The previous two trips were dry and I was anxious to know what fate had in store for us this time . We had set out to find a leopard that had made a kill right next to Sunkadkatte. On our way to Sunkadkatte, we turned at a bend and suddenly the naturalist cried "Tiger! Tiger! Tiger!". There she was on the left of the road , staring at out vehicle .We backed up a bit to see if she would call out for her cubs , but was in vain. The problem was, we could not see if the tigress was still there or not. My heart sank and I thought that was it. I managed to make just 2-3 images of her , but they were no good as she was quite far. Then we decided to move closer to check if she was still there. There she was. We spent around 20 minutes with her. My first ever Tiger sighting at Kabini was an amazing one . Thanks for viewing
