This video was first uploaded three years back. As the attitude of Keralites towards street dogs is still the same and cases of domesticated dogs being abandoned on the street escalate each day, I feel this video is still relevant and re-post it. I have not reserved any hope that the Government will, in the near future, do anything to change this situation despite having very effective laws to protect street dogs and stop dogs being abandoned on the streets by cruel men who kept those dogs as long as they were healthy and show-worthy.

മായന്നൂർ ചിറങ്കര സെന്ററിലെ ചില സുന്ദര ദൃശ്യങ്ങൾ. 1 .എഞ്ചിനീയറിംഗ് മികവിന്റെ മകുടോദാഹരണമായി നില കൊള്ളുന്ന ഒറ്റപ്പാലം - മായന്നൂർ "ഹൈവേ". 2 . അധികാരം ഒഴിയുന്നതിനു മുൻപ് കലത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ബാക്കി ചില്ലറകൾ കൂടി അടിച്ചുമാറ്റാൻ വേണ്ടി പണിത ബസ് വെയ്റ്റിംഗ് ഷെഡ്. ഇന്നുവരെ ഒരു ബസ് പോലും ഇതിന്റെ മുൻപിൽ നിർത്തുകയോ, ഒരു യാത്രക്കാരാനെങ്കിലും ബസ്സു കാത്ത് ഇവിടെ ഇരിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല. വേറെപ്രത്യേകിച്ച് പണിയൊന്നും ഇല്ലാതെ , നാല് പരദൂഷണം പറയാമെന്ന് കരുതി, ചില വൈകുന്നേരങ്ങളിൽ ഇവിടെ വന്നിരിക്കുന്ന ചിലരെ കാണാറുണ്ട്. 3 . ഒരു മരം പോലും വെച്ച് പിടിപ്പിക്കാൻ ഉത്സാഹം കാണിക്കാത്ത ഭരണാധികാരികൾ വളരെ ഉത്സാഹത്തോടെ വെട്ടി മാറ്റിയ ഒരു തണൽ വൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ അവശിഷ്ടങ്ങൾ . ആ മരം നിന്ന സ്ഥലം ഒന്ന് വൃത്തിയാക്കാൻ പോലും മിനക്കെട്ടിട്ടില്ല. 4 . വെട്ടി മാറ്റിയ മരത്തടികൾ എവിടെ സൂക്ഷിക്കും എന്ന് ഇതുവരെയും തീരുമാനമായിട്ടില്ലാത്തതിനാൽ തല്ക്കാലം പൊതുജനത്തിന്റെ തലയിൽ തന്നെ കിടക്കട്ടെ എന്ന് തീരുമാനിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ്. നാലു വര്ഷം മുൻപ് അടിമുടി മാറ്റങ്ങളുടെ വാഗ്ദാനക്കൂമ്പാരങ്ങളുമായി ജനങ്ങൾക്ക് മുൻപിൽ തൊഴുതും , കുമ്പിട്ടും, കുനിഞ്ഞു നിന്നും വോട്ട് ഇരന്നു നടന്നവർ അവരെ എന്തിനു ജയിപ്പിച്ചു എന്ന കാര്യം പോലും മറന്ന പോലെ . തെരുവുനായ്ക്കളുടെ അമിത വർധന ഉത്തരവാദിത്തമില്ലായ്മയുടെ വേറൊരു ഉദാഹരണം. കഴിഞ്ഞ നാലു വർഷത്തിൽ ഒരൊറ്റ പട്ടിയെപ്പോലും വന്ധ്യംകരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. ചിറങ്കരയിൽ മാത്രം ഇപ്പോൾ അൻപതോളം പട്ടികളുണ്ട്, പല പ്രായത്തിലുള്ളവർ. ഇതെല്ലം ആരോട് പറയാൻ അല്ലെ?
