"Oh s**t.. Oh s**t.. why did I even sign up for this in the first place." This was the thought I was in when the pilot signaled to open the airplane door on reaching 13000 ft..
Ever since I saw Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara back in 2018, something got stuck with me. It might be Laila saying "तुम्हे कैसे पता आप चालीज़ तक ज़िंदा रहोगे..? Seize the day my friend." or Arjun, Imraan, and Kabir doing adventure sports.. This movie was with me through my tough times. And scubadiving & skydiving became a checkbox on my bucket list...
Back to the story...
From waking up at 5:30am to reaching the jumpsite way before even the janitors came in, we, a group of four .jpeg were really excited (a bit nervous too). After checking in, I could literally feel every second and every single beat of my heart waiting for the buzzer to go off, showing that it's our turn. After waiting for nearly 30 mins in the terrace cafe enjoying the Dubai view with the canopies flying in, our buzzer went off. Things were pretty fast after then. Our diving instructors (mine was Emily and Dyllon) came and harnessed us up and taught us about the basics one should know while diving. "THE BANANAAAA". When everyone got ready, we hopped on to a bus, which took us to the runway strip where the plane was waiting. Within no time, all of us were in the plane, and it took off. And then i realised there was no turning back now!
It was the first time I'm in a "jugaad" propeller plane. Windows that are semi open, two seats for the pilots, two long bench seats for us to hold on to our lives, and a transparent shutter door for us to dive from. Slowly, as the altitude kept rising, it was getting colder and the air lighter.
I'm gonna do something that's gonna literally pull me out of my comfort zone. Oh my God, I can hear my heartbeat. It was fine because if listened closely, I might have heard the heartbeat of .jpeg sitting next to me. Within 10-15 mins , we reached the required altitude, and the shutter door was opened.
