Daityasudan Temple, Lonar

The Daitya Sudan Temple, located in Lonar, Maharashtra, is a historic Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his Daityasudan avatar. Constructed during the Chalukya Dynasty between the 6th and 12th centuries, the temple exemplifies the Hemadpanthi architectural style, featuring an irregular star-shaped design.

The Hemadpanthi temple has a plan in the shape of an irregular star. Towards the east is a flight of ten steps, which leads to the terrace, where the principal entrance is located.

The temple is incomplete. A standing image of Surya occupies the niche at the back of the temple. This indicates that the temple might have been originally intended to be dedicated to Surya.

The doorway to the sanctum is carved elaborately with an image of Ganesha on its lintel. Within the sanctum is the idol of the principal deity Vishnu, in his four-armed form, holding a conch, a chakra, a club, and a man by the hair.

दैत्य सुदान मंदिर

महाराष्ट्रातील लोणार येथे स्थित दैत्य सुदान मंदिर हे भगवान विष्णूंना त्यांच्या दैत्यसुदन अवतारात समर्पित एक ऐतिहासिक हिंदू मंदिर आहे. सहाव्या ते बाराव्या शतकादरम्यान चालुक्य राजवंशाच्या काळात बांधलेले हे मंदिर हेमाडपंथी स्थापत्य शैलीचे उदाहरण देते, ज्यामध्ये अनियमित तारा-आकाराची रचना आहे.

हेमाडपंथी मंदिराची योजना एका अनियमित ताऱ्याच्या आकाराची आहे. पूर्वेकडे दहा पायऱ्या आहेत, ज्या टेरेसकडे जातात, जिथे मुख्य प्रवेशद्वार आहे.

मंदिर अपूर्ण आहे. मंदिराच्या मागील बाजूस असलेल्या कोनाड्यात सूर्याची उभी प्रतिमा आहे. यावरून असे सूचित होते की मंदिर मूळतः सूर्याला समर्पित करण्याचा हेतू असावा.

गर्भगृहाचा दरवाजा त्याच्या कपाळावर गणेशाची प्रतिमा कोरून कोरलेला आहे. गर्भगृहात प्रमुख देवता विष्णूची चार हातांच्या स्वरूपात, शंख, चक्र, गदा आणि केसांनी बांधलेला एक माणूस आहे.

Lonar Lake is a unique, ~50,000-year-old meteorite impact crater located in Maharashtra, India's Buldhana district. This saline, soda lake is a National Geo-heritage Monument, notable for its high mineral content, which can cause its water to change colors, and the specialized microorganisms that thrive in its alkaline environment. The surrounding area supports a diverse ecosystem, including various bird, reptile, and mammal species, and is recognized as a Ramsar Site.
