J&K Police Shopian Organises Grand Tiranga Bike Rally in Collaboration with District Administration

August 11: In the run-up to Independence Day 2026 Shopian Police in collaboration with the District Administration Shopian organised a grand Tiranga Bike Rally to promote patriotism, national unity, communal harmony and pride in the national flag.

The rally was flagged off from District Police Lines (DPL) Shopian and proceeded towards Main Town Shopian, witnessing enthusiastic participation from personnel of J&K Police, CRPF and Civil administration.

The rally was led by senior officers, including the Deputy Commissioner Shopian and Senior Superintendent of Police Shopian, who actively participated along with other senior officers, police personnel and officials from the Civil Administration. The participants proudly carried the Tricolour throughout the route and raised patriotic slogans, creating an atmosphere of national pride, unity and enthusiasm. The vibrant rally reflected the collective spirit of the people and security forces in celebrating the values of freedom, unity and service to the nation.

On the occasion, officers highlighted the significance of the Tiranga as a symbol of unity, freedom, dignity and justice and called upon citizens, particularly the youth, to uphold these values and contribute towards building a peaceful, progressive and harmonious society.

J&K Police, Shopian and the District Administration reiterated their commitment to promoting patriotism, public participation, harmony and community engagement and appealed to citizens to participate enthusiastically in the upcoming Independence Day celebrations.

A Mega Tiranga Bike Rally was held in Shopian today under the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign-2026, showcasing a strong spirit of patriotism and national pride.
The rally was flagged off by DC Shopian Shishir Gupta and SSP Shopian Mushtaq Ahmad Chaudhary, who also participated in the rally along with senior district officers, police personnel, youth and other participants.
Starting from DPL Shopian, the rally passed through major areas of the town before culminating back at DPL.

Shopian, August, 10:-

As part of the ongoing Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026, the District Administration Shopian, in collaboration with the Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), Shopian and the Education Department, Shopian, organised a mega Har Ghar Tiranga function at Government Degree College (GDC) Shopian today.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation of students, youth, senior officers, public representatives, college authorities, prominent citizens and other dignitaries.

The grand programme featured mass singing of Vande Mataram, the Tiranga Anthem and vibrant patriotic cultural performances by students, showcasing their artistic talent and deep sense of national pride. The atmosphere at the venue was charged with enthusiasm as participants came together to celebrate the Tricolour and the values of unity, integrity and patriotism.

The programme was attended by Principal GDC Shopian Tariq Ahmed, DIO Shopian, Sajad Ahmed Shah, DYSSO, senior officers, public representatives, college authorities and other dignitaries.

Across the district, similar activities including Tiranga rallies and yatras, patriotic cultural programmes, mass singing, decoration and illumination of public places and distribution of National Flags through Self Help Groups were held with active participation of students, NCC/NSS volunteers, NYCs, SHGs, civil society members and employees.

The celebrations extended to Shopian, Zainapora, Keller, Kanjullar, Ramnagri, Chitragam, Kaprin, Barbugh and other areas, besides educational institutions and Municipal Council areas, turning the district into a vibrant expression of patriotism.

Mega Tiranga Rally Organised at Tral

Tiranga rally marks the inaugural event of Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign–2026, integrated with third phase of commemoration of 150 years of National Song “Vande Mataram”: DC

PULWAMA, AUGUST 09: The inaugural event of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign–2026 was held today at Tral with the organisation of a mega Tiranga rally, marking the beginning of the campaign being observed from August 9 to 17, in integration with the third phase of the commemoration of 150 years of the National Song “Vande Mataram.” The rally brought together people from all walks of life in a vibrant display of unity, patriotism and national pride under the Tricolour.

Led by Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom, the rally saw the participation of MLA Tral, Rafiq Ahmad Naik; SSP Awantipora, Sajad Ahmad Shah; ADC Tral, Sajid Yahya Naqash; ADC Pulwama, Dr. S.M Ashraf; Commandant CRPF 180 Bn in addition to other district and sectoral Officers and officials of the district administration, police and paramilitary forces. It witnessed enthusiastic participation of citizens, including elected representatives, senior citizens, families of martyrs, students, youth, social activists, NGOs, civil society members, trade union members and Auqaf members.

The event commenced at Government Degree College Tral with the rendition of the National Song and National Anthem, creating a strong patriotic atmosphere. The rally thereafter proceeded through the picturesque streets of Tral and culminated at Tral Bus Stand, where heartfelt tributes were paid to the bravehearts and martyrs of the soil who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.
To honour their valour and sacrifice, a felicitation ceremony was also organised on the occasion, wherein the families of martyrs were felicitated.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Dr. Basharat Qayoom said that this year’s Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign is being celebrated from August 9 to 17 in integration with the third phase of the commemoration of 150 years of “Vande Mataram.”
Calling the campaign a people’s movement, the DC said that Pulwama has set an example of Jan Bhagidari during the previous editions of the campaign, and expressed confidence that the people would once again participate with the same enthusiasm and spirit.
He said that a detailed calendar of activities has been rolled out across the district to ensure widespread public participation and to carry the message of patriotism, unity and national pride to every household.

The DC called upon the people to actively participate in the campaign and make Har Ghar Tiranga–2026 a grand celebration of the spirit of the nation and collective participation.
