The Ganga (Ganges) is a 2,525 km trans-boundary river flowing through India and Bangladesh. Originating in the Himalayas from the Gangotri glacier, it becomes the Ganga at Devprayag, Uttarakhand, after the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers converge. It supports over 400 million people and empties into the Bay of Bengal.
