As you've all noticed, my photography has significantly declined over the past year due to work, family commitments, and a creative block. However, in recent weeks, I've been making an effort to return to this hobby that has brought me so much personal joy.
Last Monday, on a whim, I drove to Nohalikai with a colleague. Despite the dark, moody weather and drizzle, I decided to bring my camera, with no expectations. My instincts told me to go, and even if I didn't take any photos, the drive would be a welcome break from work. Plus, my colleague, who is from Darjeeling, would have a memorable experience.
We arrived late, and the sun was beginning to set. While most people would have rushed to leave, the Nohalikai experience taught me to wait for the best light, which often appears just after sunset. Don't get me wrong, the sunsets here are beautiful, but the afterglow is even more spectacular.
Unfortunately, due to my prolonged creative slump, I made a few rookie mistakes with my equipment. For example, I used a 35mm lens instead of a 16mm lens, which would have better captured the sky and foreground. I didn't realize my mistake until I got home and reviewed the photos on my computer.
