A perfectly captured skittering frog leaps to grab a bee snack in a Ranthambhore pond. The frogs usually float on the surface of water. Seven of the eight known species of skittering frogs, Euphlyctis cyanophlyctis, are found in India. For patiently observing and understanding animal behaviour, and for her hair-trigger reflexes, 12-year-old Nyra Dicky Singh was chosen as a joint Second Prize winner in the Young Photographers’ category.

My home is beautiful with an edible garden for us and the various bees, butterflies, insects, birds, frogs, rabbits, hens and our two pet dogs.. just outside roam leopards, Nilgais, fox and an occasional hyena too.
