The cutest little cub just casually climbing onto mom’s back… and then deciding that’s the perfect place for a nap 🥹🤍 Those dangling little feet!!!

When you’re all in… you’re ALL in. 🐻💦

Meanwhile, the other bear is like, “You know you can just fish from here, right?”

Walk into the water. Reach down. Pull out a salmon. Dinner served. 😅

Not every fishing attempt ends with a salmon… sometimes you just have to give it a few half-hearted tries and call it a day 😂🐻

This bear made a few attempts, but clearly wasn’t interested in putting in too much effort for dinner. Sometimes the fish win! 🎣

A freshly caught salmon, a hungry brown bear, and a front-row seat to the whole thing. Not a bad way to spend dinner time. 🐻🐟

Had the best time watching these COY playing in the tree and trying to get their mom to join in. 🤣

One of my favorite parts of working around bears is how much can be communicated through the smallest, calmest actions.

This curious cub was interested in us and kept trying to come a little closer. Rather than encouraging him to approach, we simply let him know that he had gotten close enough and he paused, backed off, and tried again. A little back-and-forth, all on his terms.

And then Mom came walking by and called her cubs. Suddenly, we were forgotten. 😂 All three took off running to her.

Moments like this are a good reminder that being around wildlife isn’t about getting as close as possible. It’s about being calm, predictable, respecting boundaries, and allowing the animals to make their own choices.

We don’t encourage bears to approach us. If they’re curious about us, we give them the space and time to move around us naturally. Sometimes, a very small action is all it takes to communicate that we’re not inviting them any closer. 🐻🤎

When a bear is focused on fishing, it may come surprisingly close, sometimes right past you.

The key is being calm, predictable, and respectful in their environment. When bears know we’re not a threat and we give them the space they need, they can go about their business without being bothered by our presence.

This bear had one thing on its mind: catching that fish. 🎣🐻

When you’re a bear cub, apparently every tree is a playground. 🐻🌲 Just a little climbing, lounging, and exploring before it’s time to get back to being a bear.

Nothing like watching a brown bear enjoy a freshly caught salmon from just a few feet away. I definitely wasn’t complaining about this dinner view.
